After the chaos of the trial and its aftermath, their tradition of the morbid "afterparty" almost seemed insulting... to everyone else, at least. Yasu is more than happy to provide.

The rest of the class might be drawn toward the cafeteria by the alluring scent of well-steeped black tea and baked goods. Inside, Yasu sips from her own cup, looking totaly composed by the tray of scones—sorry, everyone, cookies are a Kakuya-only privilege—and the teapot.

There are plates set out, too. Much more sophisticated than the mopey crackers, apples, and cheese everyone is used to.

[ On the one hand, it's probably not good that Yasu is acting this way. On the other, if anyone else here is going to beat their head against the situation like it's business as usual— ]

I'm not sure... She mentioned that it was a tradition of her X-Laws, but she didn't give the specifics beyond that. Doesn't she seem like the kind of girl who would think of plain butter like an unspeakable indulgence, though?

Not to mention salt and pepper... the unabashed gluttony on display would make her blush, kyahahahaha!

[Water: on to boil. Pasta... er, well, there's not really much that Yasu can do until the pot starts boiling, is there? She doesn't even need to say the aphorism.]

Hm... I wonder if I should-

[And then, conscious of Kuro's presence, Yasu immediately cuts herself off.]

[ Kuro has followed her into the kitchen. Even if she has no intention of helping, she hovers nearby, elbows settling on the counter as she watches Yasu prepare the pot and set aside the pasta for once the water has begun to boil. ]

Huh? [ As if simultaneously pressing Yasu and letting the conspicuousness of her halting comment slide, Kuro asks, ] Wonder if you should what?

A- Ah, um... set aside some for, er... me and Kakuya...

Yasu looks anywhere but Kuro, nearly dunking her long hair into boiling water in the process but pulling out a save at the last moment.]
