Well! That was some tea party, huh? You've finally seen the faces (or perhaps the singular is more proper here?) of your captors. A pair of creepy twins seem to fit the overall theme of the Castle at least. Why not have Twiddle Dee and Twiddle Dum, after all?

Regardless, it doesn't seem that they're changing their minds any time soon. The first floor of the Castle is still open up to you. The Audience Hall is still locked most of the time so perhaps you can meet the Alices there if you need to. There are plenty of things to occupy your time before the inevitable slow erosion of your memories. If this is a game, who will make the first move? You or the twins?

[he exclaims this but then he runs back into his room, so it's a bit more than a blink to be sure.

Comes back out wearing Catarina's farm clothes. They're a bit small on him but he was able to get into them because he's a cartoon character alright]

If I just wear this, it'll think it's me...

[Head kerchief securely fashioned, Nigel prepares to waltz into Catarina's room.]

[The door opens. The room is like the other bedroom suites, though definitely more lived in. Whoever this Catarina was she loved sweets, judging by the many empty packages of sweet vending machine snacks everywhere.

Also like cupcake wrappers. The window is showing some farmland and there's a hoe leaning by the window. Some books are near the bed and a picture frame on top of the books.]

[now that Nigel has deployed Mizuki toward Kirika's room he'll step back in to investigate! also it turns out the outfit is big on him instead of smaller. what are they putting in the detergent these days, yeesh-

also this guilty verdict is pretty concerning too with the rules in mind?? but WE DON'T HAVE TIME TO UNPACK ALL OF THAT. time to fling this picture away and take another look at this room with new eyes.]

[Dead people can have more than one set of clothing! But aside from that fact, this is pretty concerning, yes! Rest in pieces, Catarina's portrait.

[Having seen him earlier as most people left for breakfast together, Mizuki found it odd that he changed clothes in the middle of the day. So she's asking.]

Oh nothing, just fooling the door with my excellent disguise!

[oooh, ahhh, look at the farm themed bedroom behind him]

This is perfect timing actually, I didn't want to wear a skirt next.

[Mizuki puts her hands behind her back for support as she tilts to one side and wow!!! An entire new location!!]

Really, that works somehow?? Okay, gimme a second then.

[She's taking the designated outfit into Catalina's bathroom since it's such a convenient locked place to change. She'll come out with the blouse and skirt on over her dark long-sleeved layering shirt and leggings, while the dress is slung halfway over the back of her yellow coat. Holding her red shoes, she eagerly trots over to the threshold to put them back on over the striped socks. The old socks are in fact folded in a bulging little zipped pocket.]

Excellent work! Now you just have to take that to room 26.

Oh, did you find these with some kind of tag or something?

I matched the laundry basket they were in to the room. We all have one in there, it seems.... but yeah, that too, I guess. Good luck!

Well, me either, now that I know this actually works. We better make sure this doesn't work on the occupied rooms.

[The door opens without complaint. Like the other room, this definitely belonged to someone with a sweet tooth. Maybe even more so? Unlike Catarina's, who leaned more towards baked sweets, there are just so many candy wrappers in the trash, dear Alice.

There's also a battered video game console hooked up to the TV. The window is showing a sprawling mansion that has seen better days. A picture is thrown haphazardly on the bed.

Also, uh, why are most of the walls and furniture really beaten up?]

[Mizuki is going to examine the furniture first then, bracing an easy chair against the wall to help her get momentum and turn it over.]

[It looks like someone with some strength has been kicking the furniture. There's scuff marks along the wood. Someone had a temper.]

[Catarina's bathroom is like all the others but there are some mud caked boots in the tub but considering the rest of the obvious farming theme in the main room isn't too out of place. Onto the next comment for Kirika.]

Ewwwwww, and I felt bad not putting on toilet slippers before coming in here.

[Does the mud look super old then? Not indicative of some fresh garden romp?]

[Super old. They might have been put there to soak but if they had been, the water's drained away by now.]
