WEEK 1
Well! That was some tea party, huh? You've finally seen the faces (or perhaps the singular is more proper here?) of your captors. A pair of creepy twins seem to fit the overall theme of the Castle at least. Why not have Twiddle Dee and Twiddle Dum, after all?
Regardless, it doesn't seem that they're changing their minds any time soon. The first floor of the Castle is still open up to you. The Audience Hall is still locked most of the time so perhaps you can meet the Alices there if you need to. There are plenty of things to occupy your time before the inevitable slow erosion of your memories. If this is a game, who will make the first move? You or the twins?
Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday | Friday | Saturday
((OOC: Welcome to peace week! There will be no case this week so just have fun and explore. If you want to investigate please put Investigation in your top level. Don't forget to put threads in for regains or go to the Audience Hall to meet the Alices.
Also, if you want to keep up to date on things we now have a discord server!))

dining hall
[Mizuki takes the seat. It's stylish like something out of a cafe. But there's something more than her big yellow coat weighing her down. Maybe literally.]
...if you have a minute later, Mikuni-san, can I show you something?
no subject
[The earnestness she perceives in Mizuki's voice is enough for her to set the cup down.]
I have a minute now.
NEVER LET NOTIFS GO TO THE SECOND PAGE OF THE INBOX im so sorry
[Still tentative - afraid that "good" would be too forceful. Mizuki lifts the portrait of Kirika out from behind her coat, holds it over the edge of the table, her side that's blank so far.]
I was investigating with some of the others, and we found a lot of rooms like this. With possessions and portraits. This one seemed extra important.
IT'S OKAY
The ones that were locked? I thought they were empty. It's wonderful you were able to make that kind of progress toward solving these mysteries.
What did you find that seemed so important?
THEY ARE JUST TAKING THEIR TURNS EMOTIONALLY DEVASTATING HER, DEAR GOD
[She flips the picture over over to rest face-up on the table, folds her hands in her lap to leave Oriko as much space as she needs.]
no subject
Oriko stands up so she can reach the picture, sliding it the rest of the way across the table with very delicate fingers, barely touching the paper out of reverence or hesitation or some mix of both.
She doesn't say anything right away, and her eyes are hard to read beneath her bands when she does.]
... Mad Dog, is that it? I think I'd be insulted, but you probably wouldn't mind at all.
[To Mizuki, now:] What possessions?
no subject
[The enormous stripes. She wonders what they looked like when Kirika was kicking something.]
She'd... rearranged all the furniture in her room, and eaten lots of candy.
[That's everything that came to mind. It would make sense to Mizuki, Oriko wanting to know all the details but abstractly. There's projection going on there. The anger that Mizuki glosses as alternative interior decorating does make it seem like Oriko isn't wrong.]
no subject
Maybe she's the one who's changed.]
I can assure you she wouldn't have been happy about her tenancy here. [Her tone of voice implies that Oriko is pretty away of what the "alternative interior decorating" actually entailed. She flips the photo over to check the blank paper for herself.]
But there's nothing written, which mean she -
[Well, she isn't here. What else do they have to go off of?]
