Well! That was some tea party, huh? You've finally seen the faces (or perhaps the singular is more proper here?) of your captors. A pair of creepy twins seem to fit the overall theme of the Castle at least. Why not have Twiddle Dee and Twiddle Dum, after all?

Regardless, it doesn't seem that they're changing their minds any time soon. The first floor of the Castle is still open up to you. The Audience Hall is still locked most of the time so perhaps you can meet the Alices there if you need to. There are plenty of things to occupy your time before the inevitable slow erosion of your memories. If this is a game, who will make the first move? You or the twins?

[He'll lead the way over to the pumpkins then! And... peer at what they've got to work with.]

I've never done one without my parents before. [Hm.]

[ ...Nagisa glances over at that mention of Allen's parents to see what sort of expression he has when he talks about them, and stays quiet for a moment before redirecting his focus to the pumpkins and supplies. ]

I've never done this at all, so I'll still defer to your experience. Though I assume you'd have to start by scooping out everything inside, right?

[His expression is fond, if a little sad.]

Yeah. You have to cut off the top first, with the stem. That makes it like a lid for the pumpkin.

Right. I can go ahead and do that, unless you want to.

[ If they've already chosen a pumpkin, he can pick up a carving knife. There may be smaller and more precise tools for the actual decorative carving part, but it doesn't make much sense to use those for something like cutting off the top where you need to saw all the way through, as far as he can tell. ]

After you cut off the top, we need to scoop out all the insides.

[ It takes a little force since he doesn't have too much in the way of physical strength, but all things considered, he manages to cut it pretty cleanly. ]

Is there a spoon or something that you use for that?

[ Reaching in with bare hands and pulling stuff out seems kind of unpleasant, but if that's what you're supposed to do... ]

[...Oh, he's starting to remember how this goes now.]

You have to scoop it out with your hands. It's kind of cold and messy though, so we can take turns if you want.

--and kind of cringes, because oof, this really is gross, and he's imagining all kinds of worms that could be hiding in here. ]

[ DROPS A BIG HANDFUL OF PUMPKIN GOOP IN A BOWL OR WHATEVER ]

[He'll roll up his sleeve and stick his hand in this time-!!

Yeah he's grimacing. It's so cold and slimy...]

[ They can just work quickly to get this part over with!! And then take a brief break to wash their hands, because ugh.

Coming back to the table with a sigh of relief... ]

Okay, at least that should be the worst part.

[ As far as he knows? They just can't mess up now because no one wants to start over and do that again. ]

Did you have a specific design in mind? We should probably trace out whatever we want to do with a marker or something first.

Oh. Umm... [He thinks on it.] Should we do something besides the usual face?

Mm... well, the first thing that came to mind was something like...

[ He gets a piece of scrap paper to sketch out something that would look roughly like this on a pumpkin. ]

But we can do something else if you don't like this, it's just one idea.

[ Since he realizes after drawing it that the smile is a little Cheshire-like, and honestly he kind of has mixed feelings about seeing this face right now himself. ]

[S. Stares at the picture for a moment.]

It's... a bear?

Yeah. They're called Monokumas, because they're half black and half white, though I didn't really draw it that way... Junko-neechan and Monaca-chan designed them.

Junko-neechan and Monaca-chan?

[Doing his best to imitate that pronunciation.]

[ nods ]

Monaca-chan is one of my friends, and the heart of the Warriors of Hope. [ Though he pauses and frowns slightly for a second after saying that. ] A-and Junko-neechan was like a big sister who saved all of us.

Warriors of Hope...?

[It sounds like he was involved in something big...]

...Not in the way you're thinking, probably.

[ Nagisa briefly debates whether he should be getting into this at all in this place, but Allen's shared things with him, so it's probably only fair.

He lowers his voice a little in case there's anyone else around, because this really isn't happy Halloween party talk, and he doesn't want to ruin the atmosphere for anyone else or make everything about himself. ]

Things were bad for all of us at home, though more so for the others than me. Eventually it got to be too much, and we all decided it would be better to just end everything together. But before we could do it, Junko-neechan showed up and stopped us, and gave us hope for the first time.

The Warriors of Hope were what we called ourselves after that, because we're fighting to bring that kind of hope to other kids, too. Our mission is creating a safe paradise for all children so that they don't have to go through things like we did.

You're making a paradise for kids...? That sounds like a lot of work.

[ He'd kind of wondered that before when Allen had said it was a place for kids who couldn't go home. ]

I'm definitely going to do it though, for everyone. I'm the leader now, and everyone has high expectations... I can't let them down.

How do you even make a paradise like that?

Getting everyone to a place with no adults and then instituting our own rules to ensure a functioning society where everyone can be safe and happy.

...Ah, sorry, I really got us off track there. Anyway, we can just carve a normal jack o'lantern face if you'd like. I don't have much of a preference, really.

That sounds really hard.

[He can't even really fathom it. But he nods, drawing out a basic jack o' lantern face complete with the odd teeth and triangular eyes.]

Something like this should be easy.
