WEEK FOUR

Monsters come in all shapes and sizes, it would seem.

The students of Ira Academy will find themselves entering the new week with their hunger sated, but it's likely the grisly scene of Friday's murder and the demonstration of the execution make the food hit much heavier. The risk of death is still very real, and astute watchers might also find it haunting to think about what sort of twisted game could have forced Yuta to lose control of his own actions. Or perhaps, for the fifth week in a row, people are just finding themselves angrier at their circumstances and their captor than ever.

After her release from the washing machine last week, Nanami Kiryuu can be found more often shadowing the other students around, hanging out in the periphery and putting in appearances even if she doesn't have information to share or announcements to pass on to the rest of the group - as long as no one makes an attempt to shoo her away.

The stairs open up to another newly remodeled floor, offering new locations that may prompt more answers to your dilemma--or more questions. There's no way to know which it will be. Thankfully, there's always a new mind-numbing relaxation activity to take in.

OOC NOTES

Welcome to Week 4! New locations are now open, a couple of old ones have been tweaked, and characters have started the next week of their education. Please hit the mods with a ping in Discord and put INVESTIGATE in your subject line if you're interested in exploring a new location. Nanami may be putting in some public appearances in threads this week; otherwise, please ping + Discord tag her or the (SHEEP) if you want to speak with then. All NPCs are still available for their private contacts as well!

As a reminder, AC runs Sunday to Sunday concurrent with these posts and is collected based on the prior week; this means you have a whole week to get in AC for the week prior. AC for week 3 should be submitted no later than this coming Sunday. Remember to submit your regains, and sign up for a spot exploring this week's mystery if you want to!

[Hello, Emma! Adorabat isn't having bubbles spew out into the floor this time!]

We gotta be super careful about this. The bubble monster is super strong and angry! I was thinking a quick sneak attack!

[Adorabat shakes Simon Norwell.]

The monster won't go down in one hit, Adorabat!

[temmapathy]

[Okay...she's hoping this is mostly just going to be a game of pretend.]

And where is the monster hiding?

[violence_ensues]

[It is, Emma will see so soon. Adorabat shakes Cynthiphelle.]

It's in the angry washing machine! It's heavily defended by the door. But I know the code. I found it while outside last week!

Cynthiphelle's the only one that knows the code.

[A contradiction to the sheep saying no one left the fence, which may mean that Adorabat pretended Cynthiphelle went outside.]

Oh, wow, really? That makes you a V-I-P then, doesn't it? We have to keep her safe while she enters the code!

[Sure, she'll play along. Memories of happier times dance through her head as she does.]

[violence_ensues]

[Adorabat puts on a super serious face. She'll nod at Emma.]

Be ready to strike at a moment's notice... Simon, no whining.

But.

NO WHINING!

[She picks both of her dolls up and slowly walks into the laundry room, being super playfully careful, briefly glancing back to see if Emma is following.]

[Emma is definitely following behind, although once they enter the room she moves a distance from Adorabat, spreading out in order to "flank" the laundry monster. She does a quick sign for "flanking" as well, to signal her intentions.]

[violence_ensues]

[Adorabat nods and ever so carefully to the washing machine. Once she's in front of it, she sets down Simon and flies up to the controls of the washing machine. SHe shakes Cynthiphelle.]

Emma, I'm gonna need some silence for this. It requires a lotta consetatin.

[temmapathy]

[Emma gives a serious-looking thumbs-up, crouching down where she is and sliding slowly forwards, eyes on the scene to see what Cynthiphelle/Adorabat is about to do.]

[violence_ensues]

[Adorabat has Cynthiphelle twist and turn random knobs for what appears to be many moments. There's a couple breaks where Adorabat wipes the imaginary sweat off of Cynthiphelle's forehead, and the bat makes beepy noises along the way, pretending that the washing machine is an advanced piece of tech. Adorabat eventually turns her head enough for Emma to read her lips.]

...Get ready, she's almost done. When I say go, go, got it?

[temmapathy]

[Emma nods, bracing herself and signing quickly:]

Ready!

This is absolutely adorable

[violence_ensues]

[Adorabat nods, making Cynthiphelle turn the knobs for just a moment longer. Then, she presses the button, immediately drops Cynthiphelle down on the washing machine, turns around, and flings the washing machine door open.]

EMMA, NOW!

It really is

[temmapathy]

[Emma leaps upwards, jumping forwards to try and deliver a karate chop at the air-or whatever's inside.]

[violence_ensues]

[Emma successfully karate0-chops the air! However, Adorabat gasps.]

OH NO! THE ANGRY BUBBLE MONSTER TURNED IVISSABUL!

[Adorabat quickly dives down to Simon Norwell, picks him up, and shakes him.]

Look out! Your left, you dummy!

S- Simon!? You can see it!?

Of course I can!

[temmapathy]

Okay! Be our lookout! [Emma signs that rapidly, already dodging to the side before pouncing forward, this time delivering a swift kick towards the "monster."]

[violence_ensues]

YOU'RE DOING IT! YOU'RE BEATING THE MONSTER! QUICK, DO YOUR SPECIAL MOVE!

Not now! The monster's still strong!

[Will Emma listen to Adorabat, or Simon Norwell?]

[temmapathy]

[Well, Emma's caught up in the excitement now, so she goes into a combination kick-and-chop, which hypothetically should result in her kicking the monster into the air before slamming her palm down on its "head" like a knife. Not quite a full special move, but still kind of fancy.]

[violence_ensues]

YEAH! YEAH! YOU'RE WINNING! JUST A LITTLE MORE AND...

[Suddenly, Adorabat chucks Simon Norwell at the wall. She gives a frightened gasp.]

SIMON NORWELL, NOOOOO!

[temmapathy]

Oh no! What happened? [Emma is signing while having a foot "holding down" the monster. At least that's what it looks like she's trying to do.]

[violence_ensues]

The- the bubble monster is longer than we thought! It must've knocked Simon to the all! We need to finish this quick!

[temmapathy]

Got it! [Emma reaches out, grabbing the monster's "arm," before she starts wrapping it around its "body." She raises one hand to sign, one-handedly.]

Help me wrap it up!

[violence_ensues]

R- right!

[Adorabat flies off of the ground and will help take care of the pretend monster, grunting as if the act is strenuous. She wipes off fake sweat in the middle, but eventually, the monster is fully tangled in its own arms.]

[temmapathy]

It's down, right? Is Simon okay?

[violence_ensues]

YEAH, IT'S DOWN!

[Adorabat rushes up to the doll rabbit and pokes it with a wing.]

Simon...? Simon!? Are you okay...?

[Adorabat waits for a long moment before shaking Simon Norwell a little, also making grunting noises in her Simon Norwell voice.]

S- Simon!

[temmapathy]

[Emma moves in, gently placing a hand over Simon's "heart."]

I think...I can feel something! He's still alive!
