WEEK FOUR

Monsters come in all shapes and sizes, it would seem.

The students of Ira Academy will find themselves entering the new week with their hunger sated, but it's likely the grisly scene of Friday's murder and the demonstration of the execution make the food hit much heavier. The risk of death is still very real, and astute watchers might also find it haunting to think about what sort of twisted game could have forced Yuta to lose control of his own actions. Or perhaps, for the fifth week in a row, people are just finding themselves angrier at their circumstances and their captor than ever.

After her release from the washing machine last week, Nanami Kiryuu can be found more often shadowing the other students around, hanging out in the periphery and putting in appearances even if she doesn't have information to share or announcements to pass on to the rest of the group - as long as no one makes an attempt to shoo her away.

The stairs open up to another newly remodeled floor, offering new locations that may prompt more answers to your dilemma--or more questions. There's no way to know which it will be. Thankfully, there's always a new mind-numbing relaxation activity to take in.

Welcome to Week 4! New locations are now open, a couple of old ones have been tweaked, and characters have started the next week of their education. Please hit the mods with a ping in Discord and put INVESTIGATE in your subject line if you're interested in exploring a new location. Nanami may be putting in some public appearances in threads this week; otherwise, please ping + Discord tag her or the (SHEEP) if you want to speak with then. All NPCs are still available for their private contacts as well!

As a reminder, AC runs Sunday to Sunday concurrent with these posts and is collected based on the prior week; this means you have a whole week to get in AC for the week prior. AC for week 3 should be submitted no later than this coming Sunday. Remember to submit your regains, and sign up for a spot exploring this week's mystery if you want to!

[And Adorabat practically absorbs all of the information like a sponge. If Dylan told her this would be useful knowledge for hero work, she',kl try to absorb that information even harder. She, Mao Mao, and Badgerclops have all had their fair share of bumps and bruises, but it may seem incredibly lucky for Adorabat or Mao Mao or Badgerclops not to have suffered any major injuries with how often they face monsters.

Well... except for that one time Adorabat probably told Dylan about, where both Mao Mao and Orangusnake ended up in a hospital trying to fight each other and then continued to fight each other until they nearly died by being drowned in cement.

She'll continue listening until Dylan's done with the lesson. ]

And remember, even if it seems boring and annoying, recovery time is very important! If you try to do something that could strain an injury, like running with a broken foot, it's going to be bad. Definitely extending the time it would take to recover, and maybe even making the injury worse.

[...yeah, probably a good thing, skipping that story...]

Okay, that sounds like a good pausing point. Ready for lunch?

[Adorabat was about to answer. She doesn't get to. Instead, her grumbly stomach answers for her. She rubs it a little, making a sour face and a low growl.]

[Dylan lets out a chuckle.]

Guess you are.

[Stretch! Walking to the door.]

So, what do you have in mind for a meal? Think I might ask Sonic for a chili dog myself.

[He's not usually a spice dog, but hey, he can live a little!]

Yes, please!

[That means "me, too". Adorabat will fly and if acceptable, will land on Dylan.]

I've never had a chili dog afore! But they sound tasty!

[He's not objecting. He's had to deal with heavier things, and at this point it just looks adorable.]

Don't know for sure about taste, but I know they smell pretty good, so you should be right about them being tasty.

Let's eat all of them!

[Adorabat, no.]

That is how you get a stomach ache.

How about we just eat until we're full instead?

[Adorabat gets a little sheepish, ribbing the back of her head.]

Oh... Yeah, that would be good. What are chili dogs made out of? Other dogs?

No, definitely not, we don't do cannibalism.

[Dog eat dog? Sounds barbaric!]

I'm...not actually sure what the dog is made out of, but the chili is a combination of beans, meat, tomatoes and chili peppers, mixed together to make a stew that gets spread over a hot dog-though it can also be eaten alone.

[violence_ensues]

[Adorabat's stomach growls again upon hearing all of that.]

...gimmieeeeeeeeeeeeee...

[Another chuckle.]

Alright, alright, you don't have to start gnawing on my ear.

[Going down the stairs, quick but careful.]

Almost to the cafeteria, just gotta wait a little longer.

[violence_ensues]

[Adorabat giggles. She'll wait patiently until they manage to reach the cafeteria.]

SONIIIIC! WE WANT SOME CHILI DOOOOOGS!

[canreallymove]

[SPEAK OF THE DEVIL AND YE SHALL-oh hey there he is, he's coming from behind you guys.]

My chili dog sense was tingling. I'm guessin' you guys want some?

[Slight wince from Adorabat's volume, then turning to see the devi-I MEAN HEDGEHOG]

Yeah, I was thinking about trying one, and Adorabat got excited when I started talking about them.

[violence_ensues]

Yeah! We've never had one, but they sound really tasty and aren't made of dogs I think!

Well, never let it be said I can't make you some now. You guys want one or two each?




And no, they're not made of dogs.

[She'll just eat until she feels full.]

[This he can do. He retreats to the kitchen, and soon enough, Adorabat and Dylan can both smell the chili coming from where he went.

Mmmmm-mmm!]

[Sniffing the air a bit, Dylan has to hold back the urge to drool...not doing the best job at it...]

Smells...gooooooood...

[Adorabat jumps off of Dylan and sits down at a table.]

Come on! We gotta be ready to eat!

[It's a little while later, but here comes Sonic, three plates of chili dogs in his hands.]

Three orders of Uncle Chuck's world-famous chili dogs, comin' right up!

[The third one being for him, obviously. But here comes dad dawgs, wooooo!]

A-ah, right!

[Following Adorabat to the table-he got distracted by good smells!!

He's patient as he waits, but once those chili dogs are in sight, his tail is wagging very quickly.]

They smell delicious!

[Adorabat's eyes are locked onto the chili dogs. Ruby Pure Heart, they look delicious. The little bat can't help but pap the table a little in anticipation.]
