After the chaos of the trial and its aftermath, their tradition of the morbid "afterparty" almost seemed insulting... to everyone else, at least. Yasu is more than happy to provide.

The rest of the class might be drawn toward the cafeteria by the alluring scent of well-steeped black tea and baked goods. Inside, Yasu sips from her own cup, looking totaly composed by the tray of scones—sorry, everyone, cookies are a Kakuya-only privilege—and the teapot.

There are plates set out, too. Much more sophisticated than the mopey crackers, apples, and cheese everyone is used to.

Well... I don't know much about ghost hunting, but I guess exorcisms would work? I'd have to figure all that out...

I don't know what I'm doing. I'm making it up as I go.

I was planning these self-defense classes because... I'm going to hop the fence. And I can't fight every monster alone. If we're going to run, we all need to run together.

[Anya's expression softens a bit as well.]

Anya doesn't think everyone will run, Dewey. Anya thinks you may have Anya...Carrie...Hunter...you...Sonic, maybe...Fret, maybe...but some of them seem happy here now.

We might not even just be fighting monsters if we try.

...Even so, I need to try. _{[His eyes looked like they were getting wet.]} We can't stay here. Even if it's dangerous past the fence, we'll all just die if we just sit here with our thumbs up our noses. And I'd rather die fighting than sitting here waiting...

[Anya walks over and gives Dewey a hug before pulling back and looking up at him.]

Anya is okay with trying.

But you have to know...

If we have to fight people who want to keep us here. Some people who we might even like - like Yasu, or Kuro, or one of the others...maybe even Fake-A...

Are you okay with that?

Do you have the courage to fight when some of your opponents might not be just monsters?

...I'm not ready to kill them if they try and take us back. If that's what you mean. I never will be. Maybe Kakuya. But... I can't take a life.

...Hunter said he was going to set up a meeting tomorrow. I'll be setting up the self-defense classes then while the smart guys come up with a game plan.
