After the chaos of the trial and its aftermath, their tradition of the morbid "afterparty" almost seemed insulting... to everyone else, at least. Yasu is more than happy to provide.

The rest of the class might be drawn toward the cafeteria by the alluring scent of well-steeped black tea and baked goods. Inside, Yasu sips from her own cup, looking totaly composed by the tray of scones—sorry, everyone, cookies are a Kakuya-only privilege—and the teapot.

There are plates set out, too. Much more sophisticated than the mopey crackers, apples, and cheese everyone is used to.

Sorry. I'm not sure if there's anything we can do for your family. But, as for the rest of us... Actually, I wonder if it won't be doable even without Jeanne around anymore.

...I... I tried to emotionally manipinate A into- Kakuya into bringing everyone back to life, but it went wrong and she told us to tear the cover off of our notebooks.

I didn't.

Luckily for us, we might not need her. She said it's possible for souls to pass into Kakuriyo without dying, which means... If we have the right materials, we might be able to bring their souls back into this world instead!

The only trouble is that she won't tell us how to do that. Bu~t... That just means we have to try even harder to figure out this place's mysteries, right?

[For the first time since coming up from the trial, Adorabat smiles. It's a hyped smile.]

YEAH! WE'LL FIND IT OUT!

[ Kuro snaps her hands together in a sharp clap. ]

That's the spirit! Now's the time for us to try harder than ever, not give up!

[Adorabat waves her wing up and down in the direction of Kuro.]

...Um, I think a new floor should open up soon. We should get everyone to sweep it for the things we need.

[ Kuro hums an affirmative. ]

I agree. Of course, it's not like we can really plan ahead for what's up there... After today, who knows if it'll even be the same "school" we've seen up to this point?

In any case, what should we all be looking for, exactly?

I'm not sure. To be honest, this kind of thing is a little outside my area of expertise. I guess where the two intersect, though... Magic circles, warding talismans... Anything that looks like it could be something like that.

Or— Maybe we should be looking closer at places where it seems like spirits have passed through from the other side? Like, those things that attacked Valmont in the laundry room...

Got it. I can also try to see if anything comes out of the machine one last time.

I'm not sure how much it'll help, but it doesn't hurt to stock up. I'll do the same.
