After the chaos of the trial and its aftermath, their tradition of the morbid "afterparty" almost seemed insulting... to everyone else, at least. Yasu is more than happy to provide.

The rest of the class might be drawn toward the cafeteria by the alluring scent of well-steeped black tea and baked goods. Inside, Yasu sips from her own cup, looking totaly composed by the tray of scones—sorry, everyone, cookies are a Kakuya-only privilege—and the teapot.

There are plates set out, too. Much more sophisticated than the mopey crackers, apples, and cheese everyone is used to.

[She wraps her arms around him as tightly as she can, careful not to crush him. She's not sure how fragile anthropomorphic duck bones are. As she hugs him, she starts rubbing circles on his back with a fist, as if she's trying to sign "sorry" with him in between.]

It's okay. We were all upset...I was worried about what Adorabat was saying too...but I thought that kind of conversation was better saved for after the trial.

Some of it DID need to be said, but it probably wasn't the right time. I...probably made things worse myself.

Yeah. There's got to be some way out. Fake-A [Okay, she's just using that sign for Kakuya now? Okay.] said that the brainwashing made us inedible to monsters...so maybe if we find some way to copy it partially we can get out that way.

Hunter said he's setting up a meeting tomorrow. I'm thinking of integrating self-defense classes into it. Maybe we can formulate a better plan to escape than just "hop the fence and chop away".

I can teach a bit of karate, maybe. We should also collect all the information we know about monsters from whatever fairytales we know. Some of it SHOULD be accurate.
