Afterparty the Fifth

[Yeah, he knows, he probably messed up by challenging Kakuya. At least everyone will know if they find a hedgehog-shaped splatter on the ground, or...him disappearing suspiciously into a mirror or water or something.





Anyways, in the meantime he's cooking, so if you guys want something, he'll make it for you. Except for Hunter, mainly because he's going to make that Not Evidence Chili Dog first. SO. Otherwise, you're all good for food. Sonic's got you.]

[Emma's going to get herself a sandwich, mostly so she can eat it on the go. She...doesn't feel like sitting in the cafeteria for too long, so she's going to wander around a bit.

Eventually, she ends up in the meditation room, where she lies down flat on the floor and just...closes her eyes, thinking about everything that's happened. She really hopes Sonic taunting Kakuya isn't going to have too many adverse effects.]

...just save me some leftovers or something. <sub>[Dewey plainly states in the Cafeteria. He's exhausted. The trial wasn't incredibly emotionally devastating this time, but he was still just... tired.]

[Anya turns up at Dewey's dorm room later, knocking on the door quietly.]

_{[Anya could hear Dewey getting out of bed, then see him cracking the door open, before going back into his bed.]}

Memorial Wall

[Adorabat goes to the wall, Slimy accompanying her. First, she writes down Ava's name. She recreates Ava's sketch that was handed to her on the wall. She sets the keytar down under the name. Next, she writes Carrie's name. She draws a sunrise. Next, Koishi's name, drawing a rose. She doesn't have any objects for the two, but others might.]

...Slimy, the three are gone... but we'll get 'em back soon.

Cafeteria Table

[Adorabat is happily eating some food with Slimy on the table next to her. There's enough food for the two of them, and as you approach, Adorabat's telling Slimy all about Pure Heart Valley.]

...and then I said that "candy sounded pretty good, but a hero does what's right, even when it crushes them inside". Then, I dropped the bomb!

[Feel free to either interrupt or become an audience member as Adorabat pushes a carrot or two over to Slimy.]

Everywhere

[The past 5 weeks might have been crushing and grueling to some people. A few could've been worn down or become more cynical, a few may have become irrevocably traumatized... but one person seems to be carefree currently. Adorabat is just flying around aimlessly, kazoo in her mouth, making cacophonic noise in what might not actually constitute as a song.]

[Emma eventually gets up to peek out of the meditation room, only to see Adorabat kazooing along.

...well, she can't hear it, at least. She has no idea if it sounds good or not. Still, she'll wave Adorabat down.]

[So. Anya's been quiet for today. Mostly because others have said what she'd have to say normally. Sonic, namely...

Mission YY: Wait For Mama And Papa
[There seems to be an end soon. So, Anya seems more optimistic than normal. She's waiting for her Mama and Papa and seeming more energetic, so she might even talk to other people...if she trusts them on a base level. She's still got reservations. But still. She's even somehow found a bag of peanuts and she's eating them.

Things are okay.
For once.]

Mission YY: Wait For Mama And Papa

[Anya may hear the random notes of a kazoo get louder as Adorabat approaches. Adorabat almost passes by when she notices Anya and stops kazooing.]

Huh...? Oh, hi, Anya.

[ Hunter is automatically getting a chili dog? Uh... ]

[ He doesn't stay in the cafeteria for long. Instead, he makes a beeline for his room and... He should be going to sleep, but from the sounds of it he seems to be going through his stuff. ]

Knife, check... Net gun... Full ammo, good. I don't have to figure out how to make that. Now that party wrapper thing...

[ Sounds like someone's preparing for war. #dollietakedown is upon us. ]

[Fret's heading back to his room too, as he tends to do - though, that is quite the list, so he'll nose in curiously.]

[ Oh, dang, Hunter thought he locked the door.

He has his weapons spread out on his bed, and was currently handling the bubble wrap gun thing from last week when Fret walked in. ]

Huh?! Oh... Hey Fret. [ He waves with his free hand. ] Just taking inventory here.

[Yasu is quiet at the afterparty. She doesn't even have the easy bravado that she did when she made scones and tea for everyone last week. She's hunched over, shoulders bowed under the weight of the coming week. But if someone approaches... a spark of frustration flickers across her face.]

...you do realize that without Kakuya, we would be dead, right?

I know you all hate her. I know that she deserves it, in a lot of ways. Doing this to us is cruel, I won't deny it.

But if it wasn't for her, the Principal would've sicced the menagerie or... done who knows what to us after Jeanne's trial. He was clearly done playing this game. And even before that, although it was a way to trick us into playing with her, Kakuya was the one who woke us up from his brainwashing.

[Yasu sighs.] I'm just sick of everyone acting like she's this... incomprehensible abomination who has always wanted to torture us, who never cared about us at all. In some ways that makes what she's doing worse, and you have no reason to care about her feelings, but...

She's a kid, too. She gets hurt when she feels like nobody understands her.

That's all.

[violence_ensues]

[Adorabat was happily flying on by, playing her kazoo when a frustrated tirade defending Kakuya is beset upon her.]

[Adorabat takes the kazoo out of her mouth, still flying with the other wing.]

...Umm... but... sor some reason... she's... scary...

That's... fine. I can't blame you for being scared of her.

[Yasu's smile as she pets Adorabat is wan.]

She's a monster, after all. It's more strange that I'm not.

...Real heroes need to act despite their fear, no matter how hard that is. But that doesn't just mean fighting. It means listening to other peoples' hearts, no matter how afraid you are of them.

[Anya sighs.]

If this were an easier sit...siteation, Anya would be more forgiving. But this is not. She is being cruel to us. We are being cruel in return. No side will budge. If we are let free, there is no problem. But the more we are forced into a game we do not want to play, we are being hurt, too.

Anya just wants to see Mama and Papa and not suffer through 'breakings' anymore. Everyone else wants the same. Anya's willing to talk it over, but if she wishes to break, we cannot be broken.

At the same time...

...Anya knows what it is like to be lonely. To want to hurt other people. To only be hurt. But Anya never hurt anyone. Anya found...a real family.

Better things are out there. But we cannot have it targeting in...insecurities.

[Okay, that gets Emma to pause after she grabs her sandwich.]

I know she's a kid in some ways. But she's still a jerk and a bully. If she was human, I'd be just as mad at her.

[A sigh.]

But...I guess it's not healthy, for you to be the only one who cares about her and the only one she cares about.

SLEEPOVER

[Well, after talking with Adorabat a little bit, Emma gets an idea. Everyone will find a note slipped under their doors, as well as a similar note placed in the cafeteria. In general, Emma wants to make sure everyone gets one of the notes:

Later on, she can be seen near the dorms carrying the sheets and pillows from the various dead people's rooms into hers, door propped open with a variety of regains. Still, if someone approaches, she'll be glad for any offer to help.

Finally, as night approaches, she's waiting up in her room to see who will arrive. Hopefully it'll be enough to make things not awkward...]
