WEEK 3

All three deaths last were tragic in their own ways. Was trust so fragile in that castle that a simple misunderstanding could end in blood? It seemed to be the case. The trial proved that without a doubt. Surely no one else would make that mistake again. As another week begins the tea cup elevator has granted access to a new area. Maybe the new amusements of a festival will ease your wounded hearts?

[Well, she doesn't like him, but she still talks to him, looking scornfully over at this prize.]

At least we don't need to worry about anyone being tempted by this. Surely no one here is so foolish as to kill and risk their own lives for a few trinkets.

I wouldn't put it past some greedy adults to kill for something like that, but I'd like to think we're all above that here.

So would I. Some of the people here wouldn't even be able to use something like a car, even when they grew up! Amdi wouldn't, or Seven....

I suppose there's always the resale value if someone's in it strictly for the money, but it's still ridiculous. Did they get this idea from watching game shows or something?

Selling it would be more trouble than keeping it! They'd need all the papers, and to prove where it came from - and I don't see how that would work anyway.

This is a very foolish idea, but it does make me worry a little less about what is coming.

Doing anything that earns money is typically more trouble than doing nothing... but I'm not sure how they'd get something like that back to our worlds with us anyway.

[ As far as he's concerned, the issue would be logistics rather than proper paperwork, since anyone who'd be buying a car from a kid or a monster or eight dogs presumably wouldn't be worried about their purchase being on the up-and-up in the first place. ]

I think a little optimism is justified, but we should keep in mind that it wasn't the motive that led to last week's murder.

That's true.... I'd forgotten about that.

There's also the constant threat of losing more of our memories, so really, there's never only one possible motive at play.

Mmph... Yes, I guess so. Or the threat of being trapped here forever....

But still, it seems better to wait a little while longer than risk being killed in such an awful way yourself. We found the culprit last time quickly enough, after all.

I don't disagree. There's just no guarantee that everyone feels the same way.
