SECOND TRIAL

How are we ever going to get the pond clean? It'll stink like lawyer for forever, Alice!

Be nice... We shouldn't say things like that, Alice.

Weren't you the one who were calling Franziska a wicked witch?

I'm sorry about it now, aren't I?! Just--it's time for a trial, everyone!

[As you climb back into the teacup to descend to the court room once more, the tea cup doesn't respond if anyone tries to go to any other floors. As you walk up to the podiums the amount of crossed out portraits has increased. How many more will die before the tricky game the Alices want is over?

At least the Alices seem relatively calm. The Queen, anyway. The Cat is in her Alice form, watching over the proceedings with a hungry look in her eyes.]

Franziska von Karma is dead. Do try to find out who did it but not too quickly. I'll get bored~

without an accomplice

[JUST IN CASE SOME PEOPLE ARE STILL SUSPECTING THE CATBOYS UNFAIRLY]

Right. Even the way everything was spread out across the castle... Everything points to someone working alone.

and yet they went all the way to the pond. it's like they weren't strong enough to feel confident strangling her while she was sleeping from the poison

[this is making Mizuki sadder and sadder]

IIIiiiiii don't know about that. They might have just been trying not to leave evidence.

okay. maybe even that classic neck scratching thing could have happened then. especially if Franziska was still holding the switch and didn't let go until later. but drowning the way it happened with no pressure still makes the most sense if the culprit was weak. and the trail in the grass sort of is evidence

But not evidence you could match a handprint to.

...ok that was 90% of what sealed the deal last time

Or it was too intimate...They could have been afraid of not having the strength, or it could have been too difficult to look her in the face.

[Mizuki's statement spurs a follow-up. Just how much damage did the poison have the chance to do?]

Was she just asleep, or was she still struggling? It would be more difficult to drag someone who was fighting...

"too intimate" also makes sense with poison... like you have to talk to them but that's different from how disgusting it is

if she was struggling wouldn't she knock over chairs in the dining hall or benches in the picnic area?? maybe that area was actually pretty open? not sure.

I wonder if it's easier for someone to convince themselves that poison is different. It's "out of their hands."

I was downstairs this morning. I don't know how clear the area by the pond looked. Were you upstairs?

went up to hang out in the picnic area and ended up in the first party to discover what had happened. the trail in the grass was the big thing

So between the table and the pond, at least, there might not have been anything to knock over...or to try to hold onto.
