[ This isn't so bad. Nagisa hadn't really had any desire to acknowledge his own birthday last week -- even if he didn't dread turning into an adult, he really wouldn't have considered his birth into that family something worth celebrating -- but celebrating everyone that's still here together on an ordinary day is kind of nice. (And it's a convenient distraction to keep him from dwelling on what might happen tonight.)

That said, he is, perhaps unsurprisingly, not actually great with parties; and rather than doing anything fun himself, he's mostly standing around and watching to make sure everyone else seems to be having an acceptable time. At various points he can also be found straightening up the cake serving area, or standing on a bench to try to redistribute the hanging paper stars that have started sliding out of place and gathering too close together. ]
