WEEK 4

Even as the castle--is it even right to consider as a 'castle'?--continues to grow more accessible more of the group is whittled away. Even your own memories fade as the Alices continue their 'game'. As the new nautically themed area opens new residents of the castle seem to have appeared. A family of living dolls has moved themselves into the dining hall while a lovesick apple tree familiar from Friday seems to have taken root in the garden. Along with the graveyard in floor three the Alices seem to want you to remember your fallen friends in some very... different ways.

Maybe the upcoming holiday will distract the Alices from moving their game along? Only time will tell.

You've been doing a good job getting along with the Queen. I think it's been helpful.

...And if you're worried about what anyone else might do, you can stay with me any time you want to, okay? It's not an imposition or anything.

I tried talking with Cheshire last week, but she didn't really tell me much. I'm just no good at it.

[He scowls at the memory.]

...I'll keep talking to the Queen instead. [He might as well stick with the one he gets along best with.

And at the last part:]

Then... when I'm not investigating or doing stuff like that, I'll try to stay with you.

I think she's just difficult in general.

[ And has been getting markedly more unpleasant lately, so that's fun...

Anyway, the more he can get his sector to stick together, the less he'll worry himself, so he's glad to get that response. ]

[ He smiles briefly, but-- ]

--Oh, and, um, try to avoid those cardboard ghosts on the third floor if you go up there alone. They'll actually talk to you instead of just floating around, and I'm not sure if they're dangerous or not.

They talk?

Yeah. They gathered around and tried to scare me when I looked at the graveyard yesterday.

[ AND KIND OF SUCCEEDED, but, you know ]

They said they weren't confined to that floor and recognized me from seeing my portrait, and that they're actually from outside of the castle. I don't know if any of that is true, but... [ sigh ] Honestly, I should probably bring that up with the Cat before we meet.

Can you ask the Cat why the cardboard cut outs on the second floor scream if you try to burn them, too?
