WEEK ONE

This week, students at Ira Academy must return to class with their memories of the weekend hanging over them. The Principal is watching now, and he dislikes children even more than his initial draconian idea of education led everyone to believe. The rules revision is probably at the forefront of most people’s minds, along with the sinking paranoia of being monitored much more closely and more severely reprimanded for stepping out of line. This very empty academy building suddenly feels all the more claustrophobic. All students now have the option to commit murder and be freed from this school. Less than a week ago, you were teaching yourself to be friends with some of your fellow classmates. Will things remain that way, or will someone reveal themselves to be willing to take a life to escape?

But just because murder’s on the table doesn’t mean that your studies are off of it, and the Little Brothers are still here to helpfully encourage all students to complete their coursework. Despite being shepherded away at the end of the school dance announcement last night, this week the Prefect will be back for her office hours and, thankfully, less fixated on pulling off a successful weekend spelling bee and social event. Less thankfully, it seems she believes that completing your re-education as originally planned is the correct course of action. You’d do well to remember, perhaps, that right now your success reflects ultimately on her. Students who prefer to see how their fellow school denizen and prisoner-in-spirit can also sneak into the music room whenever it’s unoccupied to converse with A.

To that end, it also looks like someone’s posted a “Tutors and Study Groups” sign-up sheet on the hallway walls outside the A/V room. There are illustrated descriptions next to it, so even someone who doesn’t understand the writing should be able to glean its purpose. This seems like a good way for people who are interested in working together or helping one another with anything involved in school life. Students may make use of this resource as they will.

Finally, at the end of the hallway near the music room, a sliding wall has receded as if it was never there in the first place, revealing an unexplored area on this floor.. Hmm, what could be up there?

This is an option for anyone who wants non-private/event convos with her, if for some reason anyone wants to spend MORE time with her. If you are looking for information about the school’s mysteries, it's highly recommended you bring in the sheep or the mod journal instead!

[Yasu doesn't need to be told twice—or even once. She was already dutifully cleaning up Jeanne's impromptu service out of habit before Valmont even called her, but his voice snaps her to attention.]

Y- Yes, Mister Valmont! I'll get right to it.

[While she was cleaning up at a leisurely pace before, Yasu is now downright bustling. She occasionally trips over herself or fumbles an object that's probably too big for her to carry, but other than that she's remarkably efficient and competent for a girl her age, almost as much as a full-time maid.]

[Anya looks around. At least all the attention doesn't seem to be on her, so she continues quietly.]

Well, I think she was talkin' to him before we first met her, and the whole...dance thing. But I'm not gonna lie, I haven't been meeting her otherwise myself.

...Anya came from a place where doctors worked with her. Anya ran away, and...ever since Anya can remember, Anya can hear what people think. Not here. But everywhere else...Anya knows things.

Anya never tells anyone. Because it might make them leave. Anya doesn't want to be alone, but...Anya can't do it here.

I'm from Japan, I guess. My mom died during Nightmare Week, and my dad's... somewhere else, so I live with my grandparents now.

[Maybe Anya expects Sonic to be scared. Who knows. But. When he hears what she says, something in his face seems to darken, even as his shoulders sack, and his expression of worry morphs into an expression of sorrow.

So...doctors were experimenting on her, huh. Yeah, he could relate to knowing doctors like that.

His own opinion is...simple. Maybe childishly so, but he's got no reason-in his mind, at least-to be scared.

Anya can read minds normally. Okay then. He's got nothing to hide anyways, nothing that that he really considers secret. That's just how he is.

If only other people and heumins were like that, but apparently Dr. Robotnik comes from a really messed up species.]

Aw man, Anya...those doctors sound super uncool.

Nor mine. [ She can't even bring herself to give any cavet here, like "but we should still tap her for information", because she dislikes her too much and doesn't feel like talking to her at all! So she just pauses before speaking again. ] Now he has turned against her, she might confess more.

[ Her line of sight definitely shifts to Edward for a half second! But then she shakes her head, her eyes fluttering shut and then open again. ]

I know not. But if there be any, they've little enough to lose in speaking on it.

I have to admit, though, it felt a bit strange saying all that about a "lamb" right now.

You are most welcome. To be honest, I have spent most of the time between last night and now trying to prepare for this. Besides going to bed on time, of course. [No mention of eating.] Though I am used to attending mass on a boat, Marco took care of things.

Yes, it seems unlikely that they won't react, all considered.

[Edward eyes the fence and decides he should be able to get over it easily enough, even with his present weakness.]

That having been said, however, it seems sensible to do as much as we can, in as short a time as possible.

The easiest thing we can check is if we will be able to see each other through the fence, or anything else. After all, from this side, it certainly doesn't look like what you described.

[Jeanne is a bit stunned and shuffles off to pick up the one sheet of paper. She already has the crackers, so the hula hoops are the main thing to get, besides the triangle which is Yasu's special job and needs to be returned to the music room. So maybe it is okay to let Yasu get all the hoops and not bump into her? Jeanne is definitely flaking on the Ritz crackers producing crumbs though, to be fair only noticeable when kneeling and she has stood to deliver the service. It's the body of Jesus, that's supposed to miraculously not crumble. She looks at Valmont.]

You know, we did not take collection today. If you really theorize there is a difference in our academy balances, perhaps that should change.

I suspect I've burned that particular bridge, but I'll try asking her about it.

I can try to find a time to teach all of you fingerspelling, at least, and we can work from there. The sheep do understand sign language, so we'd still need to be careful not to let them see.

[Well...first of all, she's going to open any boxes to see if there's anything hidden in them. As well as check to see how new the supplies are-particularly the suturing equipment.]

[She signs "church", using the two-fists version instead of the prayer-hands version.]
