Post-Trial I Afterparty
[They're down two of their number, and who knows how many more will follow, but for tonight at least... They have a chance to rest.
The school has already been cleaned, leaving no signs of the deaths that occurred on this very day, but that's just as well. After looking around to make sure of that much, Yuta marches into the kitchen and, after a bit of looking around, ends up gathering some snacks: boxed crackers and apple slices that aren't perfectly even in cut but look, he's not the chef of his group, he did his best. These he sets out on some plates in the cafeteria before finding his usual seat to lounge in, eating some apple slices off of a smaller plate he grabbed just for himself.
And then, he waits - to see who trickles in, and who doesn't.
Where is your character in the aftermath?]

...oooo... You want me to sleep with you tonight?
no subject
If...it wouldn't be a bother. I'd appreciate it.

I'll always be there for you...
no subject
...thank you. And I'll always be there for you, too.

So...? You like the apples?
no subject
He dips his his nose down to sniff the apples, before taking a bite.]
Mmm!
[He still smiles, nodding as he swallows it down.]
Yeah, they're good.

[And...maybe apologize...but first, something to distract himself with!]
You mention Mao Mao and this Badgerclops guy a lot. Can I ask what they're like?
[He has got a bit of a theory going on.]
no subject
Mao Mao is super cool he's got a really cool cape and sword and he's a hero and knows all these super cool moves and Badgerclops has this really cool robot arm and he's super smart and the three of us go on all sortsa adventures and we stop criminals and beat up the sky pirates and squish all sortsa bad monsters-
[Yeah, she's gonna continue like this unless stopped.]

But it's nice to see someone happy, after all of...everything.
Still...]
Wait, can you slow down a bit? I wanna make sure I hear all the details.
[Don't want to miss anything.]

[Adorabat clears her throat and starts over, this time more slowly. She tells the story of how they first met, of how she was so bored of the peaceful life in Pure Heart Valley, how she saw Mao Mao and Badgerclops appear in town, seeing Mao Mao defeat a monster and instantaneously wanting to become THAT. She was told to stay behind but she didn't listen and went on to help defeat the sky pirates by dropping a bomb in the giant ship the Sky Pirates had.
She recounts her adventures of lying about a government conspiracy to try and give Mao Mao a perfect adventure, of being super impatient about wanting to be a hero and feeling like she couldn't keep up, getting a robotic shell over her leg, being forced to work with the sky pirates, but eventually realizing there's no shortcuts to being a hero. Story after story she tells, with some wacky adventures...
Of how she found out two mean people were stealing from Pure Heart Valley by pretending to be nice, of Mao Mao reuniting with his dog Bao Bao, and him eventually realizing that Bao Bao didn't really abandon Mao Mao, just that he was a free dog that did his own thing, of how much of a jerk Mao Mao's dad was, of her first unintentional solo mission, being able to beat the sky pirates one by one...
It possibly be any clearer, but Adorabat thinks that the day Mao Mao and Badgerclops was the very best day of her entire life.]

But she keeps talking. And he hears more. He hears the passion in her voice about it all. The adoration for these two that took her in. The plain fact that...he's not sure if she has once mentioned a parent, or a guardian figure, in her life, other than this cat and badger. And while that concern is still definitely there, it feels...lighter, somehow.
Maybe not as big of a deal, maybe.
So he won't make any issues he has with the stories known. He'll just listen, occasionally make commentary that's jokey but not sarcastic, and generally have that concerned look melt away.
Maybe...this kind of stuff can be okay, sometimes.]

It's getting pretty late now. [A yawn.] Think you're ready for bed?

[Yaaaawn...]
...Haven't told you... about... Tanya Keys... y- yet...

[Adorabat will allow Dylan to carry her on his back, continuing to tell the story. It doesn't last that long as a quarter of the way, the lil batbaby is fully asleep.]

Dylan is silent as he walks back to the dorm room, careful not to wake the sleeping bat on his back. It's a...bit of a struggle, getting the door open, but he manages.
He sets Adorabat on the bed first, making sure she gets a good portion of blanket over her-not too much, not too little.
He doesn't need the blanket-wasn't used to it before, and still isn't used to it now-instead doing the typical dog thing of circling around the end of the bed, before lying down.]
Good night, Adorabat. Swee...adventurous dreams.
