[It’s almost Tuesday. Midnight is coming slowly to the Academy, the clocks tick on regardless of the heartache that still lingers. Maybe you’ve finally fallen into a restless sleep or trying to force yourself to sleep has taken up most of your night. Something in your wall is shaking violently. It’s not just the noise that awakens you, either. Whatever is shaking makes your room vibrate. Your alarm clock moves and falls off the nightstand. The bed shifts with you in it, throwing you out.
Plaster bends and breaks just slightly to leave a hairline crack. The scent of warm water comes to your nose as you rise to your feet. Before you reach your door to see just what was happening, a small indistinct thought comes to you. It’s not your voice but it feels like it’s correct.
