Good morning!

...Except it really isn't a good morning for the students at Ira Academy, after all. The deadline prescribed in this week's motive came just as quickly as the one's before it. It might be difficult to repel the sinking sense of dread that bleeds into Friday's early hours. That secret written on a slip of paper might even feel heavier for some. Perhaps it's Father's hate-filled words instead: I’m getting a little antsy about your performance. Do something to spice things up, won’t you? By now, is a grisly discovery every Friday morning a guarantee?

Though you're surely awake at the same time as usual--if you slept at all--there's a certain gloomier, late-year feeling to the artificial light keeping the Academy illuminated and providing the illusion of a complete world outside. There are no real seasons to speak of in this part of Closetland; one step into the playground proves that easily enough. And yet, as you emerge from your rooms, free to go wherever you wish today, it's hard to deny it. You've been enrolled here for quite a while, and time has passed.

Will autumn come and go before you get out of here?

[ Kuro can be found skulking around on the bottom floor. She's carrying a lint roller, a scalpel, and a biohazard bag from the science room. Maybe a little more strangely, she also has a laundry basket with both her uniforms tossed inside. ]

Hi~ Mind bringing your spares, too?

[ She is not actually asking. ]

[Jeanne is just coming out of the playground, tapping a pencil against her lips as she holds her sketch of the scene. Hi, Kuro! You might have see her through the window!]

Spares, plural. You are thorough.

Well, considering this, [ she rolls her wrist, flicking the lint roller ] someone has to check our laundry.

[ She does seem pleased with herself, though. ]

Maybe ask for more than just the uniforms. Someone could claim you didn't ask about their clothes from home.

[A pause, as it hits her that sounded a bit rude.]

Good call, though. I wouldn't have come up with it.

But I meant any spare outfits you're not wearing, you know? [ But, of course, she takes Carrie's meaning. ]

If anyone actually bothers to wear their uniform today, I'll make sure they know.

[ Given that Kuro herself apparently didn't see any reason to get dressed for school today... ]

[She's not entirely alone there... Carrie's wearing about two-thirds of her uniform, today. The trousers are tucked into her boots, and she's left the white shirt untucked over the top, with her belt at the waist. She's trying for traditional clothing of some sort and just... can't quite hit the mark with what she has to work with.

She nods, vehemently.]

I do get what you mean. I just don't want to leave room for it to come down to "oh, I didn't know you wanted us to bring everything", you know?

[Adorabat doesn't exactly wear her school uniforms.]

The clothes in your closet. It's probably not a big deal for people like you or Sonic, but...

[ She gestures forward with the lint roller, showing Adorabat the hair on its surface. ]

Our culprit tried to clean themselves up with this. We might be able to compare something on this roller to what's left on their clothes.

[violence_ensues]

[Adorabat glances at the lint roller, then glares at Kuro.]

...I gave you all plastic baggies for a reason.

[When finished talking, Adorabat goes into her room, gathers the uniforms she hasn't really worn, and huffily shoves them into Kuro's arms.]

[Emma grabs her uniform and her spare clothes, but pauses, throwing them over her shoulder to sign.]

Won't they get mixed up with each other if we throw them all in like that?

Well, people could help me out by bringing their own hampers.

Sure, I can do that. [Emma runs off, eventually coming back with her own hamper dragging behind her, with both her clothes and her baggie of evidence inside.]
