WEEK 2
WEEK TWO
Two weeks is plenty of time to get used to a new school, but the horrors of Ira Academy are likely to require much more acclimation than that. The lesson learned this weekend may be more important than anything else taught thus far: Regardless of motivation, regardless of friendliness, regardless of heroism, any member of the student body could turn out to be a killer.
Starting this week, the immovable, impenetrable glass wall blocking the staircase by the first aid station has receded. Students are free to go up the stairs beyond that wall and leave the ground floor of the school for the first time.
The new area that opens up in the Academy couldn't come at a better time. Past the landing, where a new ascending flight of stairs now waits behind another thick impenetrable wall of glass, the second floor greets students with muted, calming colors. The rooms in this area of the school house activities targeted at calming, freeing, or emptying the mind. After witnessing such terrible things on Saturday, it would be lovely to clear such thoughts away entirely, wouldn't it?
On Monday, classes will resume as normal, as if the student body had not undergone recent and horrific attrition. At least there are a fair few more places to hide now that the next floor has opened up, and it might be easier to avoid the Little Brothers trying to herd you into the classroom every now and then. It would be easy to let unease and paranoia reign over everyone. Perhaps, come Tuesday again, there will be another announcement from the Principal, holding another threat over everyone's head until the right person snaps and attempts the optional capstone project. There may be another mysterious phenomenon to follow through the school, seeking a hint of meaning or answers. Of course, you could all give up and choose re-education.
How will you move on?

OOC NOTES
Welcome to Week 2. The Prefect has been removed from play until further notice and will no longer be able to be contacted. Mod Shay will continue to work for the game on an administrative level. ICly, the Principal will mention vaguely that the Prefect has been removed from her duties for the foreseeable future. The IC rules will be updated to reflect this and that's how the characters will find out. The sheep will take up her work monitoring the school and have their own contact post, and the A/V room is still locked. While you're free to question this ICly, please be mindful of others and try not to push the issue either ICly or OOCly. This isn't related to the plot and shouldn't be treated as such.
As a reminder, AC runs Sunday to Sunday concurrent with these posts and is collected based on the prior week; this means you have a whole week to get in AC for the week prior. AC for week 1 should be submitted no later than this coming Sunday. Remember to submit your regains! Also, if you want to investigate put INVESTIGATE on your subject line, please!
SUNDAY
CHURCH

Peace be with you.
[This is a way more depressing mass than last time considering Reika and Luz are dead, Jeanne hasn't had the opportunity to apologize to Adorabat yet, and Yasu has been retraumatized and radicalized. Jeanne has had to absolutely throw herself at Valmont's knees to reel him in to ring the triangle for the eucharist, but they did not find it in time and saw the cowbell that Fret had played before, instead. At least it will be faster to find the old greetings and unchanged readings. She is armed with an entire little regain bible to do the readings with more confidence.]
...let us begin with the first reading and the second reading.
[She is taking volunteers but doubts that she will get them. Such is life. Time for the gospel..]
I would like us to have a song today. To honor the "narrow way" part of the sermon on the mount.
[That's all.]

Later, he's in the art room, slinging paint at a canvas. There's not much rhyme or reason to it, but he seems less angry and more...determined. He's got his tongue out eyeballing his painting and everything.
Anyone up for joining him for whatever he's planning?]

Her first stop, once arriving, is the Sensory Deprivation Room. She toddles in after putting on the suit and then crawls into the pod. It's unsettling how her first thought was - someone could probably kill someone here real easy. She's in and out in no more than 30 minutes. Outside of the room, she shakes her head before moving on.
The Science Lab is next. Anya walks in, peering around...and she immediately jolts away from the skeleton once she sees it. Spooky! She doesn't like that! However, she does finally find the pull-down posters, and she looks at them with a little smile.]
Stars are pretty.
[The smell of the room is pretty funky, though. She eventually leaves, looking more cheerful than when she came out of the previous room.
Next is the Art Room. Anya looks around at all the art curiously, before she voices a very obvious question.]
Why do they keep repeating...?
[She'll probably try her hand at origami or peering at the pottery wheel before she moves on.
The Workshop is connected to the Art Room, so that's where she goes next. It's hot, and there's wood. She's not sure what to do there, so she spends a good minute looking at everything before moving on.
The Mediation Room is her last stop. And it's...unique. She takes a seat inside on one of the cushions, looking more or less out of her element...
Before she tries to sit down with the door closed. It's cramped! She opens the door, and she tumbles out.]
Weird tiny room.
[She mumbles. But that completes her exploration of Floor 2. With that, she approaches the stairs and prepares to head back down.]

Investigation & Open To All
[New floor, new floor! Adorabat is thrilled to bits to see this happen! With gusto, she immediately dives in to explore. Very quickly, she spots the art room and is immediately drawn to it. What all's in there!? What paintings and supplies are there!?
Meditation Room
[As much as she wants to grab a paintbrush and start painting, she DOES notice a meditation room. And Adorabat is WAY behind on her meditation. Mao Mao would disapprove. After she investigated the art room, she can be found actually meditating in the room.]

Re: SUNDAY
[But, as soon as he was awake again, he was rushing towards the Art Room in order to have some fun that wasn't on the playground for once. He had a pencil, scribbling away on the paper in a rather crude imitation of 90s edgelord comic book styles. Except for one.

Eventually, when she inserts another coin, she's greeted with a loud thunk. When she looks down to examine her prize, she immediately spots the faintly curved hilts of two very familiar paired blades. Her face lights up. Could it be, finally, that she's hit the jackpot and found Kanshou and Bakuya?! ]
Khh, damn it— Of course I couldn't get so lucky!
[ The answer is no. Her grip tightens around one completely broken, completely useless shortsword—and, overwhelmed by her frustration, she pitches it as hard as she can against the vending machine's face. (To add insult to injury, naturally, it ricochets off without leaving so much as a dent.)
But there are still more coins to insert. Kuro continues to amass her collection of miscellaneous stuff. Finally, she has just two coins left in her palm; in her impatience to be done with her
bad gacha pullssupply-collecting, she shoves them both into the slot, not waiting for the vending machine to dispense one questionable prize before demanding another. For a moment, she is greeted with only silence. Then, the vending machine spews moist kibble all over her legs and shoes. ]
Wh— What is this? Groooss...
[ Kuro is still standing there, trying to wipe dog food off her knees, when the vending machine decides to follow up. As if to give the worst answer to a rhetorical question imaginable, it spits a piece of firewood directly into Kuro's shin, too. ]

Mystery 3 | Blood is Thicker
For those asleep, the sudden wet sensation falling on them would be enough to stir them awake. For those awake, well, pray that you weren’t looking up. Something is seeping through your dorm room’s ceiling. Something wet, warm, and red.
Blood.
Globs drip onto you as a stain grows steadily bigger in the ceiling above. Perhaps the sins of Saturday are coming back to haunt you?
Either way, the laboratory is on the floor above the dorms. It may be a good idea to head in that direction unless you want to stay in your room with the ever growing amount of blood seeping into it.]
((OOC: As with the previous mystery, this is a locked event. You may talk about the events after they happen, of course, but trying to wake up the other students isn’t allowed. If they try they’ll get a sensation that they just don’t have the time to spare. What happens to your belongings after the mystery is up to you! We don’t want to make that decision for you. While you may respond to the event individually to put in your reactions since this an investigation, we prefer that you stick together for the duration.]

If you want to find him for the majority of the day, you're going to need to knock on his dorm room door, as well as be patient. He's kind...mentally preoccupied, at the moment.
If you're lucky, though, you may find him in the cafeteria, surrounded by a variety of objects that may or may not be familiar to some people here. The only things not present are the knife and the shirt-even when he's not fully there, staring up at the ceiling as stars are projected above, he knows better than to let those things out.
He lays on his back, staring up, hugging three things to his chest: the rabbit plushes, and the rabbit-stone-thing.
Feel free to take something if you want, it seems unlikely for him to do...anything, really.]

The sudden plethora of art supplies in contrast to the dearth she was subjected to before put Yasu in even more of a doodling mood than usual... or, rather, painting mood. She sat herself down in front of a canvas, humming cheerily as she mixed watercolors, occasionally opening her grimoire to get references of the wispy green prince and the beautiful masked girl that she's painting, and-
She stops short, remembering several things in quick succession as she looks upon her completed work.
Several mentions of one "Amity" from Luz.
Talks with Yuta.
Talks with someone else.
It all clicks into place.]
...oh no, [Yasu whines, sinking down her stool as she realizes.] Oh no, oh no, oh no...
Did I... really... oh noooo....
[The "nos" at least sound more like they're deriding her own abject stupidity for failing to realize sooner than anything else, but Yasu is going to keep spiraling anyways.]

TUESDAY
MOTIVE
After the gifts are handed over, the sheep immediately make a beeline away. They don’t even stay around to sign as the Principal’s voice booms through the PA system. Instead, his words are recorded in writing on a small note, like a gift card, taped to each butcher's paper-wrapped box.]
Last week was a disappointment for everyone. Well, except for the clown, I guess. This week, however, I expect great things from everyone. No more pulling punches! If you prefer those back at home over your fellow students then this should force your hand, right? Here’s some proof that I know what you hold dear.
[Though the speech clearly evokes the contents of the package, it’s probably best to be certain. Upon unwrapping and opening their box, students will find three things: 1) a plain folder with a few photographs of someone important to them, taken in secret from a few feet away; 2) a lock of hair or similar physical evidence, such as feathers, fur, scales, or cloth; 3) a small, innocuous personal affect, like a teddy bear, watch, or old sweater (maybe it even still smells like them). Those who do not or no longer have someone important to them will instead find evidence of something (a place, perhaps, or a thing) important enough that, if it were destroyed or damaged, it would devastate them.]
What are you waiting for?! The clock's ticking, I'm not a patient man.

MEETING
[What on earth is this note your character just received...? There's some kind of construction paper and calligraphy going on... Well, it will be easy enough to find out that Jeanne had consulted with Yuta and conceded to the music room concept on the condition that they communicate the idea in some kind of code to reduce the scrutiny A-friend would face from the administration. You will find her standing imperiously by the conductor's stand. She did not bring snacks. Instead she brings a speech.]
When we find the principal, we will kill him. Speak now if you have any pleas for mercy or proposals to time our attack most wisely. I believe we should also take into account the fact that Reika's executioner brainwashed her. Though she was unarmed and likely to be defeated regardless, that creature clearly stupefied Reika in some way.
Last week, we promised each other that we would wait for the painful fight that was coming to our group. I believe that this week is no different. None of us, not even Reika as she wrote, could live with the idea of our loved ones knowing our sins.
That said, there is reason to have hope. Late Sunday night, Adorabat, Dewey, Dylan, and myself were drawn into a terrifying encounter. We were quite shaken; please forgive us for tarrying in sharing. [She says completely unshaken.] There was a bloodlike entity that gave us a vision stored in this piece of hair. [Feel free to take it from Jeanne!] There was discussion of copies. It would explain a great deal if, for example, we are being threatened with copied hostages, or if our enemies sent us here so we could be replaced with compliant copies. The experience was threatening enough that I doubt our captor meant for us to learn this.

cw brief emeto mention
A great assortment of stuff materializes around her over the next few minutes, all of it baffling. She only barely catches the egg in time for it not to splat on the school store floor, and nervously sets it on a counter while she continues feeding red coins into the slot. If anyone comes in after the turtle comes out, she gives them an awkward look before clarifying: ]
'Tis not Valmont's.
[ Which sounds like something someone who stole Valmont's turtle would say, but you know what, it's fine! Finally, after yelping and jumping back as an arrow narrowly misses her, she's down to two coins. She puts one in, and for a moment it seems that the blood they spoke of at meeting has begun pouring from the neon facade of the vending machine. The reality is something worse. A filthy cloak, the color of fresh blood, lies on the floor. Thomasin has never seen the garment before, and yet she is certain she knows whose it is. Mercy's shrill voice comes to her as her hands tremble and her heart races.
A witch! I've seen her in her riding-cloak, about the wood. ]
No, no...
[ But words cannot take back the knowledge. She can smell the forest on it, and the woodsmoke and grease of daily life in the crudely-hewn world she once inhabited. There are stains on it she cannot think upon, lest she retch here and now. She doesn't want to touch it, but she must, to get it out of here before anyone sees—
Without thinking about it, one of her shaking hands puts the final coin in. Anyone who comes in for, like, the next five minutes will see Thomasin sitting on the floor, her shoulders shaking as she presses her face into the soft coat of a jumbo special big boy.
After composing herself again (and putting on the sunglasses), she takes most of her haul back to her room! And after that, she folds the cloak up and carries it, held in her arms like the sick inverse of a swaddled infant, to the workshop, where she throws that shit straight into the kiln. She, uh... doesn't know how to turn it on, though... a little help.......... ]

[Adorabat is at it again, with a number of items laid on the floor. She inserts one last coin, and what comes shooting out of the collection slot is a dumpling ball, bonking her straight in between the eyes with a small squeak, causing Adorabat to oof in surprise and fall the the floor, a little dazed.]
[Care to help?]
Art Room
[Adorabat is happily painting in the art room. By the look of it, she's been at this for a while. There's multiple paintings scattered across the floor. There's pictures of a black cat wearing a red cape, a white and brown badger, and a blue bat with a yellow heart on its stomach. There's pictures of the various students here, mainly of Hunter, Dewey, Emma, and Luz. There's pictures of a quartet of strange people being maimed in various ways. Alive, but still badly hurt. And finally, there's paintings of various locations. Adorabat seems to be on yet another painting, humming happily.]

INVESTIGATING THE WORKSHOP
Which led to Hunter attempting retail therapy. Unfortunately, since this school's idea of "retail therapy" seems to be "put some mystery coins in the gacha machine and see what you get," he has quite a few things up for trade in the Cafeteria this afternoon. Notably, there's a Big Brother picture without its frame and Twin Chakrams that Hunter has no idea what to do with. Hunter himself will be there, looking particularly bored. ]
Free stuff. Come and get it...
[ He's eventually gonna wander off and leave the free stuff out for grabs. It's nothing he'd really miss. Instead, he goes exploring and starts poking around the workshop. Why? No reason. Just got nothing better to do. ]

INVESTIGATION!~
Where better to start than the meditation room? He's got experience in places like this, thanks to a brother of his, so maybe he can find something? Regardless, Dylan is sniffing around here, both figuratively and literally. The candles, the floor cushions, and the posters. If there's anything off, he will smell it.
And maybe a little tampering with school property as well, because why not. It's not like the Principal is going to come out and punish him for taking down a poster or cutting open a seat cushion or two.
Especially when he's hiding the
shameevidence in his room once it's all over.](no subject)

THURSDAY
Closed to Sonic
Another day, another batch of coins to redeem, and another familiar ring. Dylan knows who it belongs to and knows that it would be perfectly easy to just knock on a door, give the ring, maybe talk for a short bit, then go on about his day. But...he should talk about things, shouldn't he? He said it before, they should all be able to work together to keep the peace, or something like that. He should be working on that.
One step at a time.
So that knocking does happen, but there's a plan in mind Dylan waits for the hedgehog to answer.]

[This morning, Fret is in the hallway just outside the school store, flipping and catching Rindo's player pin like a coin out of tension and boredom. He's clearly getting restless thinking about the hostages, especially when there hasn't seemed to be much in the way of plans from this group. ....It is finally starting to sink in that maybe he shouldn't be leaving that entirely up to a group of majority twelve and under kids. Time to give it his best shot. He's gonna be hitting people up for their junk regains. Especially if they resemble animal parts, or something weapon-like.]
Sooo we've been using the school gacha for a while... but you know, in game gacha you're supposed to recycle trash rolls into better units, or... something? Or maybe it was using junk to make art... whatever, who cares! Point is, I'll take whatever you got! Pretty please?
[Once he's done there, he'll finish up by searching around for anything that's been randomly discarded. These are the only contraband in the school that seem largely unmoderated by the Principal - the key to innovation must be in there somewhere! Well, if nothing else, he seems to be finding a lot of unloved Fuzzbuzzes gathering dust in the corners of rooms.]
CREATION OF THE FUTURE
[Now Fret is in the workshop and he's locked the door to make something out of whatever junk he received. Occasionally you can hear Fret's voice pipe up, and a chorus of Fuzzbuzzes mimicking his speech. Something deeply cursed must be happening in there... Every once in a while, he steps out into the art room to make sure there aren't any Little Brothers poking around before resuming his mysterious deeds.]
EXCESS ENERGY
[Once he is done doing... whatever THAT was, he stashes the cursed project in his room and heads out to his usual haunt in the gym. Spending that much time in the presence of Many A Fuzzbuzz is stressful, on top of everything else, and he wants to relieve some of that stress. Also he's wearing the Chullo of the Chosen one because it makes him look so very rainbow and cute. Apparently, the hat on his pants is NOT due to an aversion to hat wearing. Anyway, he'll wave for attention and call out whoever is in there.]
Ayo! Who's up for some ping pong?!
