WEEK TWO

Two weeks is plenty of time to get used to a new school, but the horrors of Ira Academy are likely to require much more acclimation than that. The lesson learned this weekend may be more important than anything else taught thus far: Regardless of motivation, regardless of friendliness, regardless of heroism, any member of the student body could turn out to be a killer.

Starting this week, the immovable, impenetrable glass wall blocking the staircase by the first aid station has receded. Students are free to go up the stairs beyond that wall and leave the ground floor of the school for the first time.

The new area that opens up in the Academy couldn't come at a better time. Past the landing, where a new ascending flight of stairs now waits behind another thick impenetrable wall of glass, the second floor greets students with muted, calming colors. The rooms in this area of the school house activities targeted at calming, freeing, or emptying the mind. After witnessing such terrible things on Saturday, it would be lovely to clear such thoughts away entirely, wouldn't it?

On Monday, classes will resume as normal, as if the student body had not undergone recent and horrific attrition. At least there are a fair few more places to hide now that the next floor has opened up, and it might be easier to avoid the Little Brothers trying to herd you into the classroom every now and then. It would be easy to let unease and paranoia reign over everyone. Perhaps, come Tuesday again, there will be another announcement from the Principal, holding another threat over everyone's head until the right person snaps and attempts the optional capstone project. There may be another mysterious phenomenon to follow through the school, seeking a hint of meaning or answers. Of course, you could all give up and choose re-education.

OOC NOTES

Welcome to Week 2. The Prefect has been removed from play until further notice and will no longer be able to be contacted. Mod Shay will continue to work for the game on an administrative level. ICly, the Principal will mention vaguely that the Prefect has been removed from her duties for the foreseeable future. The IC rules will be updated to reflect this and that's how the characters will find out. The sheep will take up her work monitoring the school and have their own contact post, and the A/V room is still locked. While you're free to question this ICly, please be mindful of others and try not to push the issue either ICly or OOCly. This isn't related to the plot and shouldn't be treated as such.

As a reminder, AC runs Sunday to Sunday concurrent with these posts and is collected based on the prior week; this means you have a whole week to get in AC for the week prior. AC for week 1 should be submitted no later than this coming Sunday. Remember to submit your regains! Also, if you want to investigate put INVESTIGATE on your subject line, please!

[Okay, Dylan is still not fully sure if he's okay after...everything. But other people are doing things, and feels the need to do something that will help, and doesn't end horribly. And with a new floor to explore, Dylan can only think to search.

Where better to start than the meditation room? He's got experience in places like this, thanks to a brother of his, so maybe he can find something? Regardless, Dylan is sniffing around here, both figuratively and literally. The candles, the floor cushions, and the posters. If there's anything off, he will smell it.

And maybe a little tampering with school property as well, because why not. It's not like the Principal is going to come out and punish him for taking down a poster or cutting open a seat cushion or two.

Especially when he's hiding the shame evidence in his room once it's all over.]

[One of those seat cushions look like it's been sewn up again. It feels a bit lumpy, too?]

[Oh, he KNEW opening them up would be a good idea! Detective Dylan knows his stuff!

He'll use a claw to carefully cut the thread that stands out as newly sewn, looking into the cushion. Anything immediately in sight?]

[It takes some pulling but.. it's a little sketchbook. The person who used it wasn't particularly good at drawing but care to look through?]

[Hm. This room get to remind him of two of his siblings...

He was never the artist of the family, and it's better than another romance novel, so he doesn't care about quality.

What'll Dylan see as he flips through the sketchbook?]

[Some of the doodles are, well, of the Little Brothers in various outfits. A chef outfit. A teacher's outfit with glasses and tie. A sheep in a lab coat... Frivolous, honestly.

The rest, though? It's of the students here. Yourself, included, Dylan.]

[...you know how Looney Tunes characters have jaw drops and their jaw literally hits the ground? If Dylan were a Looney Tunes character, that's how far his jaw would've fallen.

As it stands, he's not, so he's just going to. Stare. At these drawings. Because this feels so so creepy.

But. But. Dylan is not going straight back to shock, because he will not be the useless person here! He will help!

So, thanks to having a sister like Da Vinci, Dylan is looking over all these doodles with a thorough eye, searching for one thing in particular.

Do any doodles have a signature?]

[They seem to be at least just the sketches you'd do in a class when you're trying not to get caught not paying attention. For example, near the picture of Dylan are some notes about math. Then a 'WHY DO I EVEN NEED THIS' next to the notes.

As for a signature? There's no full signature but...

But seriously, this both feels like a relief and a concerning thing to find, what.

Anything notable about the other students' doodles? Mainly paying attention to his fellow animals, as well as a...certain pair of fourteen-year-olds that are the same height.

Look just because he's out of the openly grieving faze doesn't mean he's not still feeling guilt about things.]

[There may be some hearts drawn around some of the teenage girls, including a pair of girls that are no longer magical. There are some various small things, too. A peanut for Anya. A 'looks stuck up' next to Valmont. A little rose next to Koishi. A planet next to you. What looks like the person trying to draw a duck dancing.

Things that, if you think back, are all on the profiles. Apart from the hearts, of course.]

[Well, at least one thing's been confirmed for him. And seemingly another, really.]

Okay, okay, this is...a lot.

[But, it could potentially be more as well.

Dylan will keep flipping through the pages, this time looking for the opposite of things he'd expect.

Is there anything off in these drawings? Something like a person he doesn't recognize, or a some place that he hasn't seen yet? Or is that too much to hope for?]

[Sadly no. There is something you might notice, though. The date. Each page is dated. There's about four months worth of drawings in here, judging by the dates. The last one was dated about June 3.]

Dylan will be taking this back to his room, thank you very much. If anyone, student or sheep alike, tries to stop him, he will be sprinting passed them, just to get this back to the dorms.
