WEEK TWO

Two weeks is plenty of time to get used to a new school, but the horrors of Ira Academy are likely to require much more acclimation than that. The lesson learned this weekend may be more important than anything else taught thus far: Regardless of motivation, regardless of friendliness, regardless of heroism, any member of the student body could turn out to be a killer.

Starting this week, the immovable, impenetrable glass wall blocking the staircase by the first aid station has receded. Students are free to go up the stairs beyond that wall and leave the ground floor of the school for the first time.

The new area that opens up in the Academy couldn't come at a better time. Past the landing, where a new ascending flight of stairs now waits behind another thick impenetrable wall of glass, the second floor greets students with muted, calming colors. The rooms in this area of the school house activities targeted at calming, freeing, or emptying the mind. After witnessing such terrible things on Saturday, it would be lovely to clear such thoughts away entirely, wouldn't it?

On Monday, classes will resume as normal, as if the student body had not undergone recent and horrific attrition. At least there are a fair few more places to hide now that the next floor has opened up, and it might be easier to avoid the Little Brothers trying to herd you into the classroom every now and then. It would be easy to let unease and paranoia reign over everyone. Perhaps, come Tuesday again, there will be another announcement from the Principal, holding another threat over everyone's head until the right person snaps and attempts the optional capstone project. There may be another mysterious phenomenon to follow through the school, seeking a hint of meaning or answers. Of course, you could all give up and choose re-education.

OOC NOTES

Welcome to Week 2. The Prefect has been removed from play until further notice and will no longer be able to be contacted. Mod Shay will continue to work for the game on an administrative level. ICly, the Principal will mention vaguely that the Prefect has been removed from her duties for the foreseeable future. The IC rules will be updated to reflect this and that's how the characters will find out. The sheep will take up her work monitoring the school and have their own contact post, and the A/V room is still locked. While you're free to question this ICly, please be mindful of others and try not to push the issue either ICly or OOCly. This isn't related to the plot and shouldn't be treated as such.

As a reminder, AC runs Sunday to Sunday concurrent with these posts and is collected based on the prior week; this means you have a whole week to get in AC for the week prior. AC for week 1 should be submitted no later than this coming Sunday. Remember to submit your regains! Also, if you want to investigate put INVESTIGATE on your subject line, please!

[Adorabat is at it again, with a number of items laid on the floor. She inserts one last coin, and what comes shooting out of the collection slot is a dumpling ball, bonking her straight in between the eyes with a small squeak, causing Adorabat to oof in surprise and fall the the floor, a little dazed.]

Art Room

[Adorabat is happily painting in the art room. By the look of it, she's been at this for a while. There's multiple paintings scattered across the floor. There's pictures of a black cat wearing a red cape, a white and brown badger, and a blue bat with a yellow heart on its stomach. There's pictures of the various students here, mainly of Hunter, Dewey, Emma, and Luz. There's pictures of a quartet of strange people being maimed in various ways. Alive, but still badly hurt. And finally, there's paintings of various locations. Adorabat seems to be on yet another painting, humming happily.]

[Even with the incident on Tuesday hanging over her, Yasu's made the art room into practically her second dorm. She's here all the time, usually tucked in a corner doodling, painting, or writing in her notebook... but today, she's watching Adorabat paint with a small smile on her face. Art buddies, heck yeah.]

Is that Pure Heart Valley? [she finally asks, betraying her presence in the art room for the first time since Adorabat arrived.] It's really pretty...

[violence_ensues]

[Adorabat didn't exactly pay Yasu any mind, just letting her paint her own things. Granted, Adorabat's paintings aren't really very good, but she's a preschooler. What do you expect?]

Yeah!

[She flutters over, taking the painting Yasu was looking at closer to her.]

This is one of the central parks! A lotta the other cutie pies think the town's pretty, too. OOH! Wanna see King Snugglemagne's castle?

[Listen, until recently, Yasu's drawings weren't much better, so she's in no place to judge. Other factors just... encouraged... her to improve.

Now that she's thinking of it...]

Um... would you like me to give you a few tips about how I make art?

When she says Snugglemagne's name, Yasu nods in affirmation, then pauses.]

Snugglemagne? Like with a silent g?

INVESTIGATION - FIRST AID ROOM

[At some point after classes, he just brings out all the up for grabs loot he's gotten from the vending machine.]

[Later still, Yuta's going to poke around the first aid room. Chances are there's going to be more killing going on, best to figure out what they have available in case of emergency.]

[What specifically are you looking for?]

[He'd like to get an inventory of all of their supplies and check for anything that looks weird or out of place while he's at it.]

[There's a lot of supplies here for a health-conscious sheep looking to protect their herd. Some aspirin, some antiseptic, bandages, a few emergency suturing kits. Nothing out of place, here.]

INVESTIGATING THE WORKSHOP

[ So, uh. This is a fun week so far. Nothing beats reports of vanishing goo blood and having everyone's family/friends/pets directly threatened!

Which led to Hunter attempting retail therapy. Unfortunately, since this school's idea of "retail therapy" seems to be "put some mystery coins in the gacha machine and see what you get," he has quite a few things up for trade in the Cafeteria this afternoon. Notably, there's a Big Brother picture without its frame and Twin Chakrams that Hunter has no idea what to do with. Hunter himself will be there, looking particularly bored. ]

Free stuff. Come and get it...

[ He's eventually gonna wander off and leave the free stuff out for grabs. It's nothing he'd really miss. Instead, he goes exploring and starts poking around the workshop. Why? No reason. Just got nothing better to do. ]

[ Well, it's stupid hot, so he will check the ventilation to see if there's something blocking them. ]

[Surprisingly, it looks like the sheep don't clean in there! It's not very big but there is something that someone shoved in the vent.]

People are getting the strangest things from the machine.

I know, right? I've even gotten fruit out of that thing... Of all things! Fruit!

I have at least seen fruit come from a machine such as that, although usually it would be picked by the person paying. Things like this, though...

[She sets it back down.]

Carter would say it's a knick knack.

[Emma arrives with a laptop in her arms, looking thoughtful as she lays it on the desk.]

Do you know how to use this? Could you hack the cameras or something?

[ He seems to recognize the laptop on sight. ]

Woah... [ He looks up at her. ] Of course I know how it works. It's my laptop!

Wow, really? Sorry I didn't give it back sooner! [She pushes it over.] What cool stuff can you do with it?

INVESTIGATION!~

[Okay, Dylan is still not fully sure if he's okay after...everything. But other people are doing things, and feels the need to do something that will help, and doesn't end horribly. And with a new floor to explore, Dylan can only think to search.

Where better to start than the meditation room? He's got experience in places like this, thanks to a brother of his, so maybe he can find something? Regardless, Dylan is sniffing around here, both figuratively and literally. The candles, the floor cushions, and the posters. If there's anything off, he will smell it.

And maybe a little tampering with school property as well, because why not. It's not like the Principal is going to come out and punish him for taking down a poster or cutting open a seat cushion or two.

Especially when he's hiding the shame evidence in his room once it's all over.]

[One of those seat cushions look like it's been sewn up again. It feels a bit lumpy, too?]

[Oh, he KNEW opening them up would be a good idea! Detective Dylan knows his stuff!

He'll use a claw to carefully cut the thread that stands out as newly sewn, looking into the cushion. Anything immediately in sight?]

[It takes some pulling but.. it's a little sketchbook. The person who used it wasn't particularly good at drawing but care to look through?]
