WEEK 2
WEEK TWO
Two weeks is plenty of time to get used to a new school, but the horrors of Ira Academy are likely to require much more acclimation than that. The lesson learned this weekend may be more important than anything else taught thus far: Regardless of motivation, regardless of friendliness, regardless of heroism, any member of the student body could turn out to be a killer.
Starting this week, the immovable, impenetrable glass wall blocking the staircase by the first aid station has receded. Students are free to go up the stairs beyond that wall and leave the ground floor of the school for the first time.
The new area that opens up in the Academy couldn't come at a better time. Past the landing, where a new ascending flight of stairs now waits behind another thick impenetrable wall of glass, the second floor greets students with muted, calming colors. The rooms in this area of the school house activities targeted at calming, freeing, or emptying the mind. After witnessing such terrible things on Saturday, it would be lovely to clear such thoughts away entirely, wouldn't it?
On Monday, classes will resume as normal, as if the student body had not undergone recent and horrific attrition. At least there are a fair few more places to hide now that the next floor has opened up, and it might be easier to avoid the Little Brothers trying to herd you into the classroom every now and then. It would be easy to let unease and paranoia reign over everyone. Perhaps, come Tuesday again, there will be another announcement from the Principal, holding another threat over everyone's head until the right person snaps and attempts the optional capstone project. There may be another mysterious phenomenon to follow through the school, seeking a hint of meaning or answers. Of course, you could all give up and choose re-education.
How will you move on?

OOC NOTES
Welcome to Week 2. The Prefect has been removed from play until further notice and will no longer be able to be contacted. Mod Shay will continue to work for the game on an administrative level. ICly, the Principal will mention vaguely that the Prefect has been removed from her duties for the foreseeable future. The IC rules will be updated to reflect this and that's how the characters will find out. The sheep will take up her work monitoring the school and have their own contact post, and the A/V room is still locked. While you're free to question this ICly, please be mindful of others and try not to push the issue either ICly or OOCly. This isn't related to the plot and shouldn't be treated as such.
As a reminder, AC runs Sunday to Sunday concurrent with these posts and is collected based on the prior week; this means you have a whole week to get in AC for the week prior. AC for week 1 should be submitted no later than this coming Sunday. Remember to submit your regains! Also, if you want to investigate put INVESTIGATE on your subject line, please!

[That and antibiotic ointment can sometimes cause rashes, but sounds like she has experience with this, so it's probably fine.
The ointment quickly gets spread over the wound, the layer thin, since that's what Mum taught him. Before he can dwell on that memory, Dylan digs through the first aid kit for another second, pulling out a stick-on bandage large enough to cover the wound, and applying it.]
Alright, this plaster is water proof, so you shouldn't have to change it out after showering, so that should be everything.

Right. Well, thanks for the help. [ Faintly, she sighs. ] Were you going to use this, too? Let me get out of your way.

[Nothing he isn't used to, if his tone is anything to go by.]
Yeah, I have a couple coins I thought I'd...use...
[Dylan's eyes drift to the things Kuro got from the machine, settling on thing as he walks forward.]
Is...is that...

So, she doesn't! Instead, she pushes herself up onto her feet again, shaking off her rumpled uniform skirt as she does. It's only then that she notices Dylan's eyes have landed on her junk pile. ]
Hm...? [ She sets her hands on her hips, cocks her head. ] Oh— I don't really know what most of that is, to be honest. So, whatever you're thinking, it's probably right.
[ She's already separated out the only items that have any apparent worth to her—that is, the knife and the axe. ]

But...he gets an up close look and-]
I-it is!
[Dylan holds the weird red and grey thing close to himself, looking like he's ready to do a happy dance almost.]
I thought I lost this after I dropped it, but it's actually here! Oh, I might be able to do some good with this thing...

This is the Puppy Bubble Wrapper! As the name implies, it's mainly meant to be used on puppies, and it will wrap any it hits into a giant plastic bubble wrap-like bubble. However, it should still work on humans, so long as you fire enough shots at them, so that it has enough plastic to make the bubble.
A perfectly pacifistic way of restraining people, and with an easy way to release them once they calm down, so long as you have a sharp claw or pointy pencil around.
[And also you're prepared for the blast of air that comes with popping one of the bubbles.]

[ Now, Kuro squats down to take an even closer look. She thinks she can see the button to push—but mostly, she misses being able to analyze the interior workings of an object just by looking at its outside. Damn these power nerfs!! ]
Hey, hey, let's go test it out on someone! [ Her voice sweetens with obvious mischief. ] I've got a knife, so we can let them out right away!
no subject
[Is that a little defensive? Maybe. But hey, he wanted this thing to keep people safe, maybe it still can be, in a place like this.
For a second, he puts a paw to his chin, because...admittedly, it is tempting. It would be nice to be the one testing the thing rather than being the one it was tested on...]
Well, I did ask Dawkins to put in at least a hundred and one shots, just in case I'd need to use it on everyone, and I'm pretty sure only five have been taken so far...
But if we do test it, it should be on someone prepared to take it! I'm not going to surprise anyone, and even if it does have a lot of shots, I don't want to risk wasting any of them. Also, you need to be careful with the knife when letting them out-it's not a 'poke-it-and-it-deflates' plastic bubble, it's a 'poke-it-and-it-pops-completely' plastic bubble.

[ She grabs the hunting knife. As if to emphasize her point, she spins it between her fingers with an ease and nimbleness that clearly suggests she's used to handling small blades.
But... Something occurs to her. Her fingers snap closed around the hilt of her knife, keeping it poised in the space between herself and the Puppy Bubble Wrapper. ]
Hey... What would happen if the person inside had a weapon like this, though? Wouldn't they be able to cut themselves out on their own?
no subject
We're in a school where the principal is trying to make us kill each other. I have every right to worry about literally anything.
They might be able to, but I haven't actually been able to test that. Every time I...have seen a bubble get popped, it was because of someone biting it from the outside. The dog inside couldn't do much, mainly because of an underbite.
no subject
Alright, then! Let's put it to the test!
[ Obviously, it goes without saying that she's volunteering herself, given the way she's brandishing that knife. ]
