WEEK SIX

Death itself isn't an end to this sinister game, and the only outcome is to play until you die.

Even without the boundaries being pushed too much last week, it would seem that the stakes continue to rise. Students will enter the new week with three of their number taken away. The class is half its size by now, the number of dead underscored by the number of dorm doors that don't open every morning, the number of seats that aren't filled out in any given room.

The atmosphere of Ira Academy has always been hostile. This week, however, the malice is more present than ever, choking the air. It's easy to feel watched at all times, especially with the knowledge that everyone is bound to the one orchestrating this ongoing killing game. Doors will sometimes open themselves invitingly only to slam closed a few moments later, mercurial in temperament and just as susceptible to the dark anger creeping through the building as the students.

For now, no new locations have opened up to explore in the school. The fifth floor remains the tallest in the building, and there's a certain sense that everything is just bound to repeat itself until there's nothing left.

Though same things remain the same, others feel as if they're on the precipice of change. Just how long can everyone go on under the threat of further violence? Even Kakuya seems to be worried now that her game can't persist like this forever. Perhaps one of the other Academy denizens can shine some light on things throughout the week, or your belief that you can save yourselves and your friends will open up new doors. There have to be answers out there: Who will find them?

Welcome to the final week of Round 2! There will be no traditional motive-murder-trial set up this week, and instead, we will try to solve the Ira Academy situation once and for all. Information on the final investigation for this week will go live later this afternoon. Characters will be split into exploration groups - Nanami will come along for this ride!

While there are no new areas for investigation this week, please feel free to ping mod characters for any public needs or reach out to them on their private posts for things your character would prefer to discuss 1:1. We hope you enjoy the ride!

[The fish tank in the lounge is as empty as usual... yet something does shift in this area as you approach. One jellyfish shimmers into the tank. There's just a gentle glow before it freezes.

Apparently, this one remembered being punched.]

<sub>[Last night, Dewey had clocked in to sleep early. But, after a conversation with Anya, he's awake early with renewed vigor, and is in the kitchen with a lot of easy-to-prepare foodstuffs set on the counter. Eggs, bread, butter, some defrosting meats, vegetables, even flour and milk was out!

Signs out in the cafeteria read "FINAL STRETCH BREAKFAST TIME! Every morning this week until further notice! Feel free to pitch in with your own food ideas and help out!" Which is Dewey code for "I absolutely can't make it big enough by myself".]</sub>

[ With the dust settled from last week—or, at least, from last week's mystery game—Kuro heads upstairs to the pool. Her posture is easygoing, but she still has her twin swords by her side; even if things had gone well with Lucky and Slimy, she couldn't completely dismiss the idea that this creature's monstrous appetite would remain.

To that end, Kuro has brought Adorabat with her as well. Safety in numbers! She approaches the edge of the pool with confidence, not wanting to let on any misgivings she might have. ]

Hey~ Is there anyone here? Don't worry, there's no hard feelings about last time — we just want to say hi!

[ Despite the lack of classes, Kuro can be found loitering around the classroom. It's strange for her—but, then again, a strange atmosphere hangs over the whole school. Her expression is distant and a bit grim as she maneuvers around the desks—almost calling to mind the face of someone trying to set their affairs in order.

She rifles through the desks of the missing students, searching for any personal effects that had been left behind and forgotten. Since no one else is around, when she reaches Jeanne's, she lingers over it. She's in the middle of leafing through the lightly-worn copy of A Little Prince she found there when the classroom door slams of its own volition. ]

Wo~w. Scary, scary! How long are you going to keep throwing this tantrum for, Kakuya-sama?

[ She doesn't necessarily expect an answer, but she doesn't not expect one, either. ]

[Adorabat follows behind Kuro sans Slimy. She and Kuro were both there when it happened, so she gladly offered her help. Though... the little bat is feeling a little awkward. While she HAS learned that not every single monster is bad, she's unsure if this is one of the bad ones.]

FINAL MYSTERY: The Final Game (cw: dolls)

[Monday came and went without any mysterious happenings. Even Tuesday passes without Kakuya bringing in a motive. While the change is pleasant for a while something shifts in the air. It’s not anger, it’s not even malicious. It’s a feeling of dread. After all… if the Academy is Kakuya’s toy box now, what happens when she closes the lid and leaves?

Such questions might not even cross your mind as Tuesday draws into Wednesday. You’re about to fall asleep when the familiar sense of a presence wakes you up. Many eyes seem to be on you when you blearily wake up, little pinpricks of light staring in your direction before turning away.

It’s not easy to see right away but they’re there. Dolls. Dozens and dozens of dolls are in your room: looking through the things you’ve gotten from the vending machine, poking around your bathroom, hanging off your bedroom light.

They drop to the floor as soon as you move. In a wave, they push towards the door and out into the hall. As you step into the hall you can see it. A massive army of tiny, humanoid dolls emerging from even the rooms of the dead. They’re all no bigger than a few inches but they’re running towards something...

[Adorabat briefly looks down to the floor from the ceiling, having been woken up by the noise. She closes her eyes to get back to sleep.]

[The note gets slipped under the doors of everyone alive during the morning. When you enter, Adorabat is writing on the dry-erase board with a marker. Once she notices you enter, she approaches you.]

Oh, hey! I wanted an information meeting to gather everything we know about this place and Kakuya and stuff as a refresher and so it's all in one place. Feel free to write stuff on either the chalkboard or marker board.

GATHERED INFO: Adorabat

[Adorabat has written down the following info if they can decipher the handwriting and spelling:

-The outside of the playground is covered in glass, Dewey says there's invisible monsters looking at you if you go out, it's really dangerous.
- Monsters are in a containment prison. The principal is there, too, and the monsters have generally been really starved.
- We're all bound to Kakuya. The black letter inside the student handbooks has the words "Lbamet's Pboolay" in it and Kakuya told me the story of the bamboo cutter. The solution is "Let's Play". In addition, Kakuya is a monster that wants to grow up and usurped the principal, trapping him in with the other monsters
- Kakuya is threatening to go back in time to get rid of a group of people that is staying in a place called "Castle Invictus", where there's a "king" reigning there. In addition, Kakuya pretended to be Ao for a while and wants us to play a game of killing each other.
- An article about an old woman that apparently appears out of nowhere and chases cars is taped to the board, as is an article about a slit-mouth woman.
- Markings on a wall in the labyrinth indicate Ao and Nanami are Adult Friends.
- The Abandoned Dorm on floor 4 had some things in it like the classroom photo and a cool backwards comic book, but what may be more relevant is a mirror was missing and the frame was burnt.
- There is a room which contains cameras observing the monsters, along with a strange machine no one knows how to decipher yet.]

- These aren't actually Heartscapes, but like Heartscapes, so Adorabat just finds it easier to call them Heartscapes.
- First one is a leather glove found in a fish tank guarded by monster jellyfish, Kakuya(?) watches two unknown men have a conversation about something.
- Second one is a chunk of braided white hair found in the science lab guarded by Slimy, a blood slime monster, Kakuya(?) watches a conversation between a girl and another girl, extremely jealous, discussing something about a copy.
- Third one is a soggy playing card found in the laundry room guarded by Lucky the gunk monster, contains Kakuya(?) watching the two men from the first heartscape discussing monsters and the principal. The conversation is cut short when five children menacingly walk in and spot Kakuya(?).
- Fourth one is a photograph of a ballerina guarded by a now-dead monster, contains Kakuya(?) watching the other monsters in a containment cell. All the monsters are growing hungry and angry.
- Fifth one is a black tie guarded by a group of water monsters, contains Kakuya(?) watching the principal shove Ao into a mirror, thereby giving Kakuya(?) a chance to escape.]
