WEEK 3

All three deaths last were tragic in their own ways. Was trust so fragile in that castle that a simple misunderstanding could end in blood? It seemed to be the case. The trial proved that without a doubt. Surely no one else would make that mistake again. As another week begins the tea cup elevator has granted access to a new area. Maybe the new amusements of a festival will ease your wounded hearts?

[Amdi had become fascinated by the vending machine and its endless weird items, if for no other reason than that SO MANY of them are things that he has never seen in his life but that other people seem to think are normal.]

Um, what's this one? [Points a nose at the slingshot]

That's... it's a weapon, I guess. But I don't think you'd be able to kill anyone with it, so... you can have it, if you want.

[He analyzes at it from several angles, but doesn't touch it yet.]

Oh... hm. Is it something like a tiny bow and arrow?

You can hold the handle here and put a pellet in the pouch, then if you pull it back and let it go you can fire it.

[She demonstrates by hitting a sign across the room - she's not exactly practiced with slingshots specifically, but she does use whips, so she can almost sort of aim one.]

Ohhh, I see!

[He examines it more carefully, and moves to take it if it's offered — delicately, of course. He's never held a real weapon before, but this one seems simple enough that he doesn't feel too intimidated.]

[A thought occurs to him, and he looks up at her a little self-consciously.]
