Now, at least the Queen had been able to talk with many of you in public. Surely this sign of goodwill as Halloween quickly approaches will last throughout the weekend.

Neither the threat of memories or the promise of a wish could shake such new goodwill, could it?

[It seems disrespectful to take the time to put on a swimsuit, even a professional investigator would take significantly more preparation.

If she wades out a few feet into the cove, school uniform and all, what are we looking at here?]

[There's an obvious glowing purple spot in near the Good Ship Unicorn. That's the most obvious thing.]

[A different one from the body discovery or the same purple glow?

Either way, she'll move out toward the light, though a little cautious about touching it? Can she see what's there without putting hands on it?]

[Same one! It looks like it's coming from an amulet that Oriko might remember Lena wearing.]

[Okay well we don't touch glowing magical things with our bare hands because we aren't animals and also no magical girl would trust this.

She'll use her sleeve to scoop it out of the water if possible. Chain broken? Does it look like it was torn off or dropped?

Basically, let's scope out this amulet's status.]

But the chain is broken. It's separated from the stone a little ways, too.]

[Once she has a better idea of where it is, then she will...dive. School uniform and all.

Assuming there's nothing else readily apparent on the cove floor, Oriko will resurface to examine the pendant a little more closely. Does the loosed part feel lit it might come away easily? DOES it come away easily while she's handling it? Is there anything else off about it, like a source for the glow, or does she need to go back down?]

[There are some things on the other side of the pirate ship that you'll probably want to look at in a bit but those aren't readily available at her current position.

It does look like it has been pulled free from it's chain. And, yes, it's glowing. You have a spoopy glowing purple amulet. Ominous.]

[The continual glow is actually pretty concerning for Oriko in particular, considering that in her experience magic typical fades with its wielder's lifespan.

Just how different were Lena's experiences, after all...?

If pointed at anything, the purple glow doesn't react to or refract off of anything nearby, right? She'd probably try shining it in the water and around the general boat location...]

[It's just like a general ominous purple glowstick, basically. Whatever evil or good power it has isn't there. It just glows.]

[Truly and deeply ominous.

Looking a lot wetter and more like a very drowned rat than she went into the cove, Oriko will go check and see what else she can find. The pendant...It should go back to her, right? She'll take care of that later.

She would probably start looking for any indicator of where Lena might have been before she ended up in the water or if were any signs, like a water current or whatever that would indicate where thing might have piled up. If that helps steer investigation.]

[There's no current but given enough time and effort, Oriko will find two bullet casings in the water on the other side of the pirate ship.]

[Well, Dark Dream's hauled Lena into the rowboat. What can she tell about this dead duck?]

[There's definitely a few things she can tell! There are two obvious things right off, though. The firs is that Lena has a hole in her chest. There's not much blood left there since she's been underwater but that looks pretty bad.]

[Is it a little one like a bullet hole? Or bigger?]

[Bullet hole. Though, considering she's like two feet tall it looks a little bigger compared to a similar wound on a human. But definitely a bullet.

You know what doesn't wash out, though? Clay out of feathers.]

[...hm. What feathers in particular? (As in "what region of the body," not "please do exhaustive bird anatomy research.")]

[Well, that's a thing. Is this a kind of clay she'd recognize from anywhere else?]

[The pit's digging area is entirely clay.]

Any signs of other injuries? That isn't invisible under feathers, at anyway.]

[It's not completely hidden by feathers but she needs to press a little but there are some minor scratches scratches on her body.]
