THIRD INVESTIGATION

There was a party on the night of the first murder, wasn't there? That time it had been your hosts hosting it even if they didn't make an appearance. Now, at least the Queen had been able to talk with many of you in public. Surely this sign of goodwill as Halloween quickly approaches will last throughout the weekend.

Neither the threat of memories or the promise of a wish could shake such new goodwill, could it?

[Well, there's two obvious things here, Allen! One is that the television is on the floor.

And the other? Judging the creepy moans coming from this room now that you're in the room? A cardboard ghost is trapped under the TV.]

[It feels like his throat is closing up.

He'll heft the TV up, checking the back.]

[Considering the back was pointing up? You might be in a shock, Allen.

Six bullets are missing.]

[He spends a full moment staring at it, even peering around in case there's any chance whatsoever that he just... missed it. That maybe they're still in there, hidden away.

But they're not.

There's nothing there.

It takes another moment for him to remember there's a cardboard ghost, but all he can do is numbly turn his gaze towards it. Whatcha doin, ghost?]

Shinies aren't worth this!

[It wiggles a bit now that it's free. It huffs a little. It's going to float off back to the graveyard. Might want to grab it if you want it around for the trial.]

[He absolutely will grab it, thanks. Holding it with a tight grip that might just dent the cardboard.]

What shinies?

[His voice is rough and low.]

W-wanted shinies but box fell on me! Wasn't paying attention to anything else, promise!

[He'll loosen his grip so there's no longer danger of denting, but it's still quite firm.]

Shinies... You mean the bullets that were inside the TV? You could see them?

Looking for round things with crowns on 'em. They're found in these rooms. Thought they might be under box. So pulled box and it fell on me.

[A pause before he releases a shaky breath.]

...You mean coins? Why do you want those?

And you didn't notice anyone else come in and mess with the TV while you were under it?

No. Too busy trying to get loose.

[Taking a look around while still holding onto the ghost, is there anything else that looks worthy of investigation?]

[Nope, this area is clear.]

[Alright. He looks to the ghost again.]

You'll have to come to the trial with me.

[The ghost huffs but ghost acquired.]

[Cool.

He's also going to take one last look at the TV. Does it look all that damaged, or what?]

[Not that badly damaged. Just a little dirty. It's pretty sturdy, though, so a small fall like that probably wouldn't have damaged it.]

[So it's consistent with the ghost knocking it over and nothing else?]

[whimsicalism]

[More or less. Maybe someone poked around the back to see if anything was in there but you really don't have much evidence there.]
