Reactions to the Principal’s last announcement Tuesday were certainly mixed. Can the Principal do as he says and bring a dangerous threat from everyone’s homes, eager for revenge? Whether he can or he can’t, a student who believed it to be possible could have easily taken him up on his offer and turned on another classmate. Of course, it could all be a lie–a story to scare children into behaving themselves. But can everyone take that risk?

With no weekend class events scheduled, Friday is perhaps the highlight of the school week. Just one more day, and it will be the weekend! Fun, friends, and excitement await!

… If only that excitement could carry over into Friday morning at Ira Academy. As students go about their mornings, they may drift into various areas of the school. It’s early enough that classes haven’t started yet.

What will you investigate?

HOW IT WORKS

While most folks have likely been through this song and dance before, here's a quick breakdown of how investigation runs at Castle W:

1. Post with your character indicating the area they're visiting this morning.
2. The mod journal will reply letting you know if the area is normal, if something might be a little off and you'll want to check back later, or if something's VERY off.
3. Once the something VERY has been uncovered, the discovery will be announced, and mods will post a comment highlighting the areas of the school that have clues and toplevels for these areas.
4. Tag into the toplevels for these areas if you'd like your character to look for clues there.

[Hate to interrupt a hallway party but... I hope you're wearing shoes everyone.

There's a lot of blood here.]

[So that smell wasn't somehow Jeanne's hair intensified - is it sort of pooled, or does it look like there was a fight here?]

[There definitely was some sort of movement in the hallway leading up to the gym. It's not sprayed but there is a blood trail leading to the gym. Think drips. Though, some of the blood looks... stepped on. Well, stepped on earlier than the hallway party, that is.]

We weren't the first ones to walk through this.

[So... drips. Like someone who'd been stabbed was carried into the gym?]

[You can't tell that at the moment but the amount of blood definitely doesn't look lethal, at least not what's on the floor.]

[There's nothing so helpful as a partial or full footprint where the blood was walked over, is there?]

[There are a few partial footprints.]

[I guess this is what Emma comes out of her room to. Blood and a hallway party. Is there a trail of any sort?]

[It seems to be leading towards the gym.]

[Oh dear...is it only on the floor, or is there any on the walls? Or...ceiling?]

[Just the floor, thankfully. Though... it is messy.]

[Are there any particularly large splotches, or is it a mostly uniform-width trail?]

[It's kind of hard to tell at this point.]

[Carrie does remember to get Emma's attention - she sets a hand on her shoulder, waits for her to look at her before she speaks.]

I'm glad you are still with us.

[Emma nods.] I saw all of this when I came out of the room. Is someone hurt, or...?

Luz Noceda is dead.

[No sense in sugar-coating it, but she looks sick saying that.]

Someone took the bait.

[temmapathy]

[Oh...Emma looks horrified, tears forming in her eyes. She never even got a chance to properly talk to the girl.]

So...we have to find out who did it now?

"Magic."

[She signs Luz's name sadly, standing back where Emma can see her tableau clearly.]

I did not hear either. I will have to make absolutely sure to awaken in a timely manner from now on.

I guess...that's the bad side of the rooms being soundproof. I'll try to wake up earlier too!

[Hallway party is interrupted. Horse is out of the gate on that one. As they finally get it through their heads to stop stepping on the crime scene, Jeanne looks for anything that is not blood. Or blood on the walls???]

[There doesn't seem to be blood on the walls but--there is something that would catch her eye if she's looking for non-blood clues. More paper!]

[Jeanne kneels carefully, so that instead of picking it up casually, she will also be able to note its orientation (any text up or down, whatever). Is it within arms length of the blood trail for that matter?]

[There's a lot of little pieces of paper in the hall, forming a bit of a second trail to the gym. The piece she picks up doesn't seem to be in direct arm's lengths but it has been slashed.]

What on Earth...?

[She takes a movement to the side between the blood trail and the paper trail. She continues slowly on her hands and knees to observe the bloodless paper in parallel with the blood, continuing to perceive it as lacking writing. Just what can the trail's length be? It seems strangely deliberate, as typically tearing up an entire piece of paper would form a pile, however loose.]
