After last Friday's horrific discovery, the march toward the weekend must be filled with dread for some of Ira Academy's students. This week, the Principal's tailored threats became even more personal. Tuesday's motive announcement received a more noticeable reception across several members of the student body. In most cases, this would be a blessing: Good children care about protecting their loved ones.

Now, however, it's a threat. Someone with loved ones to protect might have felt there was nothing left to lose--except, perhaps, another classmate. Despite the lack of a real sun (or, truly, any genuine weather outside at all) the morning is a gloomy, cursed one. For anyone feeling concerned about what might be waiting out there, it might be a little hard to emerge from the warm safety of bed. Others may have felt the oppressive fear on the other end of things, unable to fall into a true sleep and still wide awake come morning.

Will this Friday see a repeat of last week, gruesome and bloody early in the morning? Or has everyone chosen to wait out the danger, refusing to give in to their fears? There's only one way to find out.

[Okay, important question that will probably have a follow up question; what's the temperature like in the kiln? Going by how it felt when he opened the door. Does it feel like this was burned recently, or was it longer ago?]

[Maybe two to three hours ago? It's not cool to the touch but you won't burn.]

Can Dylan just. Try to grab the charred clothing bits? Or is this going to be a fun story at the trial about how his paws got burnt?]

[Probably to be safe, there's probably a tray or something you can use to get them out of the kiln safely.]

[Oh thank goodness, that would've been embarrassing-and painful.

He'll just be using that tray to grab the scraps, then putting them in one of the plastic bags he took from the last meeting, because as last trial showed, sometimes you should bring evidence to trial, no matter how ridiculous it might look.

[Ah, paint thinner. A useful tool back when Da Vinci didn't know walls in the house weren't meant to be painted on.

Just in case, he's gonna take a light sniff. Any person's scent he can recognize, or is he just getting acetone's smell memorized?]
