By Friday morning, some of Ira Academy's best and brightest are likely feeling the effects of a few days' hunger. For a few, tensions have probably heightened, or sleeping to while away the time has become either easier or harder. Probably no one is even pretending to pay attention to classes any longer.

The sinister pattern of the past few weeks has also been difficult to ignore. Even with an indefinite deadline on the motive this week, Friday likely arrives with as sense of sick anticipation. It's time for students to wake up - or at least leave another sleepless night behind - and come see what the weekend has in store.

But as you step out of your room this Friday morning, however, you may notice that something is off right away, even if sleep or hunger or both are making you bleary. You might not want to leave the hallway outside of the dorm rooms right away and instead convene with the other students before moving on to any other locations.

[Ok. Ok. He and Dylan should have this. He just had to keep in mind the stuff Yasu and Edward both taught him, for better or worse.

So. Slit throat. That much was obvious. Time to check the body for warmth first.]

[It's definitely cooled off some by now. Maybe between five and seven hours ago?]

Ok, so. While Dylan's checking out the shallowness of the cut, Sonic's going to look for other injuries. Feel for broken bones, check for bruises or cuts, that kind of thing.]

[Dylan also notes that there's two cuts there... but there aren't any other clear injuries here.

His shoes are missing, though?]

[But, he at least thinks he has an idea for it. He's going to note both cuts and the lack of shoes.

There's nothing else missing, is there?]

[There is one thing... There's not a lot of blood here.]

[That's definitely a sign and not a good one. He's going to check the body one more time before he goes to look further around the playground. Is there anything else he needs to note that Dylan isn't noting before he does that?]

[Not that you can tell. It doesn't look like it's been used recently.]

[Welp, then that's probably it.

[One last thing, Sonic. Leading from the door to the dorms is a trail of drag marks.]

[Back to breathing through his mouth for his own sanity. Sonic can do one thing while Dylan does another.

The slit throat. Is it shallow, or deep? Does it hit the main artery and vein (carotid and jugular, respectively) or does it not touch them? Any way to see if this is a right to left or left to right cut?]

[There's actually two cuts here. One on the side of his neck and one across his throat. The first was shallow while the second cut through the main artery and vein. You can't tell which way it was done but the cut was curved slightly.]

[That's...not normal, right? Why would you need to cut someone's neck twice? Maybe...maybe a swipe in a first attack, before managing something more efficient?

Wait, that's for the trial, not now. For now, that curve...are we talking curved like going up or down from one side to the other, or curved like this was a curved blade?]

[You think it's more like the second.]

[Dog. Dog, that's a lot to take in. It's gross and horrific but he needs to keep going. They need to figure things out.

Anything else to find out about the wound? Did it bleed the normal amount or weirdly not enough? Any extra injuries near the cut?]

[The wound itself is fairly bloody but it hasn't pooled on the asphalt as much as you think it should have.]

[Not enough blood...he has an idea of what this means, but just in case, he's checking Valmont's finger nails. Any signs of discoloration? Or, better yet, signs of fighting back?]

[There's no signs of a struggle.]
