By Friday morning, some of Ira Academy's best and brightest are likely feeling the effects of a few days' hunger. For a few, tensions have probably heightened, or sleeping to while away the time has become either easier or harder. Probably no one is even pretending to pay attention to classes any longer.

The sinister pattern of the past few weeks has also been difficult to ignore. Even with an indefinite deadline on the motive this week, Friday likely arrives with as sense of sick anticipation. It's time for students to wake up - or at least leave another sleepless night behind - and come see what the weekend has in store.

But as you step out of your room this Friday morning, however, you may notice that something is off right away, even if sleep or hunger or both are making you bleary. You might not want to leave the hallway outside of the dorm rooms right away and instead convene with the other students before moving on to any other locations.

[All right. Paint aside... from just outside room nine, is there anything immediately, visibly really out of place?]

[There's some paint cans littering the hall.]

[Do they match the colors on the floor? In terms of where they're scattered, not "should we be looking for more paint somewhere else". Maybe it's clearer phrased as do they look like someone was carrying them out and then ditched them to run?]

[Sorry, it looks like I got that wrong. All the paint cans are stashed in a corner of the dormitory.]

[It's okay! Do they look like they might be stacked up to cover something?]

[whimsicalism]

[They look like they were discarded there.]

[panglici]

[Well, Emma's got the paint well in hand, looks like... is there anything not paint on any of the cans, upon closer inspection?

And - which corner is this? Closer to the rest of the building, or the far end of the hall?]

[Each paint can is in it's separate corner, closest to where the stain is. Something like this.]

[The blue can is closest, then - what's most obvious upon picking it up? Any dents, any blood, any weird markings?]

[Nope. Just flecks of paint. Looking at the other cans will result in the same conclusion: no dents or blood.

If you're looking around the dorm, there is a place you might want to check...

[If there was anything that happened there... well, it can't hurt to look. Who cares if she's tracking paint everywhere.

First off - is the door shut, ajar, or open?]

[It's shut but unlocked.]

[...Damn. There was almost a glimpse of a decent person deep down in there. Who knows what he could have become the next day, if he had lived?

Emma's just...going to take a closer look at the paint. Does it look like it was just dumped in the hall? And is it right in front of the doors, or spread across the hallway?]

[For posterity, I'm going to list what colors go where here, too. Red in front of rooms 1-5, blue in front of rooms 6-10, green in front of rooms 11-15, yellow in front of rooms 16-20.

It looks like they were just dumped.]

[Hmm...if she inspects the edges where the colors meet, can she tell which order they were dumped in?]

[Unfortunately not. Are you looking closer at where the paint is close up or at a distance?]

[temmapathy]

[Yeah, now there's footprints everywhere she's going up close to inspect the paint. Even bending down if necessary.]

[There's something interesting in front of Dylan's room.

There looks to be some dried blood under the red paint.]

[Oh boyyyyyyy. Can she scrape away the paint to see the exact shape of the bloodstain?]

[whimsicalism]

[It looks like there's no discernible pattern, you can only see a few spots of dried blood even if you managed to get rid of all the paint.]

[Okay then...she'll check the rooms next to his, just in case there's any more bits of blood there.]

[You don't seem to find any more blood there. Though, there is a trail of blood leading towards the playground. Something like this.]

[Guessing that trail is also underneath the paint?]
