WEEK 2

The first week at the castle passes without any (recent) murders. Mysteries were found, questions asked, bonds formed, and Halloween celebrated. Now as Sunday 'dawns', you might feel your mind a little lighter as your first memories fade. Will this be just a week celebrating the (questionably) best thing about October or will more sinister things be afoot?

Either way, it looks like the Alices will continue their game.

Sunday | Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday

[Hello, and welcome to week 2! Don't forget to submit your memory losses here and your activity here. If you want to ask or annoy the twins you can do so here. As always, don't forget to turn your threads in for 'fabulous prizes.]

Maybe you could show it to Gil and ask. But... is he really Gilgamesh? The title calls him a king, but- Oh, but I shouldn't gossip about people who aren't here, it's rude of me.

Gossip? No, no, this is just discussion. Besides — I won't tell if you don't.

You could just ask him, honestly. He seems pretty cool for a guy who's... [ her voice actually pitches higher as she ventures a number, because she truly has no idea ] five thousand years old?

[ IN THAT CASE SHE'S 100% CORRECT AND NOBODY ELSE CAN EVER PROVE HER WRONG ]

Either way. The other option is his parents were really, really big hippies.

Maybe he has to do with that Holy Grail War we were told about... Though I don't know why Gilgamesh would appear as young as he is then. [Since Manaka was on about King Arthur to that French kid!]

Well, maybe they couldn't get him here any other way. They sure do have a theme going.

That is true... [He was kinda scared of the little guy though even if he's just a kid now!!]

[ Hmm. ]

So, I haven't actually read this myth, but does it ever mention him as a kid?

Oh, I remember, yes. His grandpa threw him out of the castle his mother was held captive in. He fell, but was saved by a Great Bird who took him to Uruk where he was crowned king. Frightful stuff it was...

Huh. I guess if he was this age in some of the legend, they could still... summon his hero ghost as a kid, or whatever Manaka said. Which doooesn't explain the rest of us, but.

[personal profile] seventhlittlemonster 2020-10-14 05:55 pm (UTC)(link)
That must be so... I still yet to wrap my head around the whole concept, but it has to be so.

Cool, we agree. So, do you know a lot about mythology?
seventhlittlemonster: (talking with smile)

[personal profile] seventhlittlemonster 2020-10-15 04:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, well... I've read The Odyssey and the Epic of Gilgamesh, so I do know what I've read in those. I know a bit about Biblical and Egyptian mythos from reading The Book of the City of Ladies too.

Oh, so it's more of a book thing.

Technically a poetry thing. The Odyssey, the Epic of Gilgamesh, they're epic poems, which means they go on for a while... same for City of Ladies, though I guess technically it's just written in poetic prose.

Yes, but I don't have it right now... [sad thoughts,]
