FIRST INVESTIGATION
INVESTIGATION
Reactions to the Principal’s last announcement Tuesday were certainly mixed. Can the Principal do as he says and bring a dangerous threat from everyone’s homes, eager for revenge? Whether he can or he can’t, a student who believed it to be possible could have easily taken him up on his offer and turned on another classmate. Of course, it could all be a lie–a story to scare children into behaving themselves. But can everyone take that risk?
With no weekend class events scheduled, Friday is perhaps the highlight of the school week. Just one more day, and it will be the weekend! Fun, friends, and excitement await!
… If only that excitement could carry over into Friday morning at Ira Academy. As students go about their mornings, they may drift into various areas of the school. It’s early enough that classes haven’t started yet.
What will you investigate?
HOW IT WORKS
While most folks have likely been through this song and dance before, here's a quick breakdown of how investigation runs at Castle W:
1. Post with your character indicating the area they're visiting this morning.
2. The mod journal will reply letting you know if the area is normal, if something might be a little off and you'll want to check back later, or if something's VERY off.
3. Once the something VERY has been uncovered, the discovery will be announced, and mods will post a comment highlighting the areas of the school that have clues and toplevels for these areas.
4. Tag into the toplevels for these areas if you'd like your character to look for clues there.
Have fun!

It's hard to judge much about the shape of the wound in these conditions, and so first he checks the rest of her body. Any sign of defense wounds on her hands or arms? Does she have blood under her fingernails, like she scratched her attacker?]

There's a gash along her arm that could have been defensive. There's no blood under her fingernails but they are dirty.]

I'm assuming that he won't smell anything more than Dylan did, however. Only blood, cool and congealing.
He does examine the gash carefully, looking for if the edges appear more torn, as if something pointy but not sharp was dragged across her skin to create it, or cut, like a sharp blade was used. He also looks at her fingertips. Are they dirty too? Does it look like she just had dirt from before under her fingernails or are her fingertips also dirty? Does it seem recent? Are any of those nails broken as if in a struggle?]

Are you okay?
no subject
No.
[After doublechecking everything he finally sits back, and vaguely realizes the blood has soaked into the legs of his pants. Another quiet note of awful.]
She knew what was happening, I think. Does that make this better or worse?
no subject
...Maybe. It might mean she got a chance to fight back. And if she did, maybe... maybe she was able to mark her killer, so we can prevent everyone else from dying, too.

[That'll just making it all the harder to figure out their suspect.
He crosses his arms in thought, brow furrowed.]

One thing he notices, though, is that with the way she's laying her shoes shouldn't be as dirty as they are.]
no subject
Are the soles dirty? Are they dirty with blood or just dirt? Do they appear to be the wrong size for her feet?]

Do the stains on the shoes make it appear that someone was stepping in the puddle of blood instead of just that someone collapsed in it?]
no subject
Actually, back to the wound. Are you noting the angle, Edward?]

Say, looking around at the amount of blood in this room, does it seem like the puddle of it is unusually small, all considered? Edward is fairly familiar with how much blood a human contains, after all. Is it possible that the actual murder took place elsewhere and the body was moved here?]
