WEEK 2
The first week at the castle passes without any (recent) murders. Mysteries were found, questions asked, bonds formed, and Halloween celebrated. Now as Sunday 'dawns', you might feel your mind a little lighter as your first memories fade. Will this be just a week celebrating the (questionably) best thing about October or will more sinister things be afoot?
Either way, it looks like the Alices will continue their game.
Sunday | Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday
[Hello, and welcome to week 2! Don't forget to submit your memory losses here and your activity here. If you want to ask or annoy the twins you can do so here. As always, don't forget to turn your threads in for 'fabulous prizes.]

While snacks have already been provided by our hosts, I do happen to have this on hand.
I hope it doesn't belong to anyone? If not, you're all welcome to it. [And she'll just...leave it on the table with the other snacks. She washes her hands of this weird vending machine popcorn.]
It's likely that I won't remain here long, as I prefer to sleep in my own room.
[Rather than settling into any specific sleeping bag, Oriko takes a seat nearby. Seems she really doesn't plan on staying. For any movies that come on, she doesn't have much in the way of visible reactions, though she covers her mouth during particularly suspenseful moments or will lean forward in anticipation in a scare. She's very quiet, all except for -]
Good grief! Why won't they just leave the house?!
[Later, despite her promise to return to her room before long into the marathon, Oriko actually seems to have dozed off watching one of the movies, her face propped up against her fist. Every so often, her expression becomes troubled, or she fidgets, or murmurs something worried-sounding beneath her breath. The polite thing to do would be to wake her up so she can return to the comfort of her room, but you don't have to be polite.]

Oriko is covering her mouth, as if surprised by her own outburst.]
I'm sorry... [She chuckles, releasing a little nervous energy.] It's just so frustrating.

I really thought it was the monster...
[You know, the fictional one.]
no subject
[She lays her hand across her chest, feeling the flutter of adrenaline from the scream.]
It's a good thing the monsters can't jump through the screen. These ones are fake.
no subject
[Probably not.]
If they're fake anyway, it doesn't matter, right? I would be more worried about then jumping through the screen if they were real.
[...that came out a little wrong.]
no subject
[Ah... perhaps that's getting too deep into the subject, for now.]
Actually, I think it means them harm. If they were able heed my warning maybe things would work out differently.
no subject
[...the sad thing is, depending on the movie, that might not be far from the truth.]
no subject
This movie, though, seems a little less complex in its representations: It was enough to get her to groan at the characters in frustration, after all.]
Who can say? Remember: The person telling the story is the one who controls what you see. They probably just want the monster here to scare you, because its actions are a catalyst for what those people are doing.
no subject
[Has she already forgotten the monster isn't real? No, but she... might not be thinking about it.]
no subject
People keep their own secrets, but they hide things about others, too - lie about them, draw conclusions without ever really knowing them.
[This is about six layers too deep than whatever they're watching deserves credit for. Oriko clears her throat and stops looking half so pensive.]
It's possible the movie makers didn't even think of it, though. So...we should try to just enjoy it for what it is, shouldn't we?
vending machine popcorn
[Mizuki shuffles over to reach into the container with one hand, the other dangling at her side. Dark circles under her eyes are fresh from Wednesday night.]
no subject
I hope it didn't get stale. It wasn't that long ago that I received it.
This is a sleepover, right: It's a chance for us to just be young girls and enjoy the moment.
no subject
[...the rush of salt isn't doing anything. Maybe she needs soda.]
Never been to a sleepover this big. Nice chance to make bigger teams for pillow fights.
no subject
[Her reference pool for sleepovers, is, in fact, in the single digits. Eyebrows drawing together in concern, she watches Mizuki's zombie-like picking over of the snacks. That really is...a lot of carbs.]
... Are you sure staying up late watching horror movies with the rest of us is such a good idea, though? A pillow fight might be a good way to wear yourself out before bed.
no subject
[She sighs. Her feelings are ultimately more complicated than can be sublimated into the metaphor of diet and exercise.]
I keep thinking about what you said, about, like, cutting off the group's leg. In here are... we the torso? [Trying to laugh and make it into a joke, failing at mirth:] Maybe being in the middle of the body is why I have a stomachache.
no subject
I think you're just worried about what people may do to other people. Could it be you feel responsible? You've taken a lot of weight on your shoulders.
no subject
I guess it is like that. But it's not the first time I've felt that way. I'd rather feel guilty and try to do something, than feel guilty after doing nothing.
no subject
[Oriko seems moved by Mizuki's uncertainty, though her tone is a little...off? despite how sympathetic it seems. Even if she was too aggressive at the meeting, she's probably still committed to what she said.]
But I think...guilt will be a waste of your time. You can set an example for the others, try and get them to behave, but if you feel guilty about the situation in the first place then you'll always hesitate in your actions.
no subject
[This is at least giving Mizuki something to look up to. Rather literally.]
It's... Not like I can diet for anyone else. You might be on the harsh side of things, but it makes sense!
house calls
In fact, only her eyes and pigtails are visible as she stares fixedly at the screen, and she seems to jump a little when the normally quiet Oriko suddenly lets out her exclamation -- she might have chosen this corner of the room both for camaraderie and quiet, really.
She is a very quiet movie watcher herself, after all, only muttering into her armful every now and then. But she tilts her head a little.]
I-I mean, it just means that they might be like us, right? There's something keeping them there...
[Who knows what they're watching but it's doubtful that there's any overt indication of a force field or other type of trap in the movie. Maybe she's just being charitable.....]
How would you leave, Mikuni-san?
no subject
Yuniko's reading of the situation is much more complex than she'd originally given the movie credit for, and a much less impulsive Oriko considers the evidence.]
I suppose my response was short-sighted and superficial. I had hoped they'd just leave through the front door, or never entered at all.
[But it's hindsight that supposed to be 20/20, isn't it? And those are the rules she has to live by, just like everyone else. She tilts her head to the side, trying to give this issue as serious consideration as the other girl has.]
If it wasn't as simple as leaving the normal way, I'd have to distract the evil spirits first. Once a diversion was created, that would be the time to escape or figure out how to get rid of them...
