WEEK THREE

Two weeks, two trials, four deaths.

One thing is certain: The monster in charge of this place knows enough about everyone here that he also knows what can drive some of them desperate enough to kill. He is powerful, and he has access, and he despises the whole student body. The face of the class' captor has been revealed now, in a sense, and the flames of his hatred for children have turned out to be very real.

At least, for now, the students of Ira Academy have one another to lean on. Some might have found the post-trial camaraderie a comfort. At least everyone hasn't given up hope. At least many students are still finding their anger and their will to fight back.

There are fewer pretenses this coming week. Classes proceed as normal; the school day still functions as normal, but the further everyone comes from that first fateful meeting with the man in charge of this school, the further away and more incomprehensible the thought that there was ever really a chance of going along with the original plan, completing reeducation, and staying safe.

...Of course, you could still try. There'd be nothing stopping you.

But you won't, will you? That's just how the students of Ira Academy are. You'll visit the third floor of the Academy, ascending the newly opened flight of stairs. Maybe you'll investigate one of the new rooms, dwarfed by the echoes that bounce of the uninvitingly tall ceilings. There's probably still something in this place on your side.

Will you work together, or will you grow further apart?

Welcome to Week 3! New locations have been added and the third floor is now open for exploration. The library is a very large space and more than one person can investigate it throughout the week if you'd like. If you want to investigate one of the Floor 3 rooms, please hit the mods with a ping in Discord and put INVESTIGATE in your subject line.

As a reminder, AC runs Sunday to Sunday concurrent with these posts and is collected based on the prior week; this means you have a whole week to get in AC for the week prior. AC for week 2 should be submitted no later than this coming Sunday. Remember to submit your regains, and sign up for a spot exploring this week's mystery if you want to!

[He shakes his head.]

We found the Prefect last night. She was... shoved into one of the washing machines.

I want to try making food for everyone and inviting her over. Who knows when she last ate?

Oh, Miss Priss finally showed herse

Wait, one sec, did you just say she was shoved into a washing machine?!?

Yeah. A few of us woke up at midnight, like the others. Almost all the washing machines were going and- ugh, look, we can talk about the other stuff later. Point is, we found her, and she's in bad shape.

Yeah, ok, cool. This is cool.

[Sonic's expression betrays that this is CLEARLY NOT COOL.]

Does she need, like, real help right now? Like sure I'll make her food but...

She was unconscious when we found her, so... I'm not sure if she's still asleep or not. I don't think she was concussed or anything [hopefully, given he is ten with no real medical knowledge and also it was like midnight and a horror show] but she was pretty bruised up.

Right, ok, um...I dunno if it'll work on heumins but I can make a poultice? Maybe?

[Hopefully he paid enough attention to Sally when she was telling him how to make it??]

And also food. Yeah. Food's a good idea.

[Finally, his vocabulary is not sufficient for a conversation. Still, he does look somewhat relieved when Sonic agrees to help.]

Thanks. I'm worried the Principal did this to her 'cause... I mean, I'm not sure if it's because she was brainwashed or what, but I don't think she's all bad, either.

Yeah, it's like a...um, medicine but you can wrap stuff over it so it can help your injuries heal. Dulce needed to wrap some on her knees once after she skidded pratty badly on them.

[What with the whole Dragon's Nest thing, but-story for another time.]

I dunno, considering Father is kind of the second worst person I've ever had the luck of ever having to tangle with? He probably did it.

Uh, also.

[Speaking of...how awful this place is and what Father may or may not have perpetrated. As they walk to the kitchen.]

Where was she injured, exactly?

It was kind of hard to tell, but like... all over, I think? The room was flooded with water until we got her out, so that didn't really help.

[To the kitchen!]

I think humans probably used poultices, too. I'm not sure what plants people used for it, though.

Ok, yeah, that's cool then. I can make this work.

But, uh, I was gonna ask if her head was, uh, injured.

[He shakes his head.]

I don't think so. I didn't see any blood in her hair or anything.

So it wasn't her...?

Um, anyways, yeah. I can make a pretty hearty meal for her.

[Woo hoo kitchen, we are here.]

Do you know what she wants, or...?

She was unconscious, remember? Something plain should be okay though, right?

[The important part is getting it down.]

...So, uh. You know that Detention Room up on the third floor? The dunce cap, uh...has broken glass and nails in it with blood on it.

[YIKES.]

Yeah. That's why I asked.

[goes to grab bowls and plates]

Ok, eggs, yeah...maybe make some French toast...muffins sound good to you too?

Oh- uh, yeah.

[He's a little distracted thinking about the dunce cap though.]

...Maybe I really should check on her again. She has a lot of hair, and if the cuts were small...

Fine, that's fine, I can do the cooking here while you do that!

[He nods him off.]

I'll try and make that poultice too while I'm at it-

[Already breaking out the eggs and flour out.]

Yeah... I still want to learn how to cook, though. Could you show me some stuff later?

[Beginning to turn to go, but not quite leaving yet.]

Yeah, can do!

Can't be the only one who knows how to do this stuff, right?

That's right. If the sheep can't do it well, we'll just have to do it ourselves.

[With a quick grin, he's off to go find nanami.]
