WEEK THREE

Two weeks, two trials, four deaths.

One thing is certain: The monster in charge of this place knows enough about everyone here that he also knows what can drive some of them desperate enough to kill. He is powerful, and he has access, and he despises the whole student body. The face of the class' captor has been revealed now, in a sense, and the flames of his hatred for children have turned out to be very real.

At least, for now, the students of Ira Academy have one another to lean on. Some might have found the post-trial camaraderie a comfort. At least everyone hasn't given up hope. At least many students are still finding their anger and their will to fight back.

There are fewer pretenses this coming week. Classes proceed as normal; the school day still functions as normal, but the further everyone comes from that first fateful meeting with the man in charge of this school, the further away and more incomprehensible the thought that there was ever really a chance of going along with the original plan, completing reeducation, and staying safe.


...Of course, you could still try. There'd be nothing stopping you.

But you won't, will you? That's just how the students of Ira Academy are. You'll visit the third floor of the Academy, ascending the newly opened flight of stairs. Maybe you'll investigate one of the new rooms, dwarfed by the echoes that bounce of the uninvitingly tall ceilings. There's probably still something in this place on your side.

Will you work together, or will you grow further apart?

Welcome to Week 3! New locations have been added and the third floor is now open for exploration. The library is a very large space and more than one person can investigate it throughout the week if you'd like. If you want to investigate one of the Floor 3 rooms, please hit the mods with a ping in Discord and put INVESTIGATE in your subject line.

As a reminder, AC runs Sunday to Sunday concurrent with these posts and is collected based on the prior week; this means you have a whole week to get in AC for the week prior. AC for week 2 should be submitted no later than this coming Sunday. Remember to submit your regains, and sign up for a spot exploring this week's mystery if you want to!

Wish we had an elevator and I'm sounding like Badgerclops right now.

[From her stories, Dylan might already know that Badgerclops can get really lazy at times.]

If it makes you feel better, I'm thinking about stopping by my dorm room first. Wanna grab something I found, maybe do some comparisons with it.

Okay. We can do that.

[Adorabat plops herself on the ground, not even thinking about whether or not being carried will cost Dylan some energy.]

[Apparently Dylan isn't thinking about that much either, because while he's not running out of the cafeteria, he is speed walking out.

He was right about being back in a minute, though, because it takes around that long for him to come back, a rectangle shaped bump under his jacket.]

Okay, ready now.

[Adorabat nods.]

Okay. Follow me.

[She sort-of-slowly makes her way out of the cafeteria and heads toward the stairs. ...Oh. She's gonna have to go up them.]

...Ummmmm...

[Is... is she allowed to fly, or...?]

I can carry you, if that'll help.

[She may be taller than him, but he weighs more. Not the worst he's had to deal with.]

[Adorabat will climb up on Dylan, making sure not to fall off.]

[As he starts going up the steps.]

It's not a bother, Adorabat. You looked like you needed help, so I wanted to help. Simple as that.

[Common sense, as far as he's concerned.]

[...Adorabat hugs Dylan.]

[It is! Genuinely upsetting!! That he can't hug back!!! BECAUSE HE'S GOTTA CLIMB STAIRS!!!!

But he leans into the hug as much as he can without putting himself off balance.]

Just one more flight of stairs.

[Adorabat keeps on riding Dylan until they reach the top of the third floor stairway. It's then she plops off and starts walking again. As she leads, she briefly glances at the laundry room DYLAN DOESN'T NEED TO KNOW ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED-]

It's over here, past the deteshun room.

[Dylan remains ignorant of Adorabat's sins for now, as she delays the inevitable...

A glance at the room's door gets his brow furrowed.]

Walking Labyrinth? Is...would that even be possible...?

[He's. Still getting used to the idea magic existing. This feels like another level of that situation.]

Uuh... What would?

Oh, well, a labyrinth is basically a fancy word for maze, but the most notable kind was the first, made thousands of years ago to trap a beast known as a minotaur-half man, half bull. It was so complicated and confusing, it's creator barely made it out alive.

I'm-I'm sure it's nowhere near as difficult as that one, but...

[After last week, anything magic is going to make him hesitate.]

So... A crushed N? Or is it the other way around?

It's to symbolize that whoever is under the umbrella together will fall in love or whatever. So whoever wrote it wants A and N to be in love... though, usually one of the people under the umbrella is the one who wrote it in the first place.
