WEEK 3
WEEK THREE
Two weeks, two trials, four deaths.
One thing is certain: The monster in charge of this place knows enough about everyone here that he also knows what can drive some of them desperate enough to kill. He is powerful, and he has access, and he despises the whole student body. The face of the class' captor has been revealed now, in a sense, and the flames of his hatred for children have turned out to be very real.
At least, for now, the students of Ira Academy have one another to lean on. Some might have found the post-trial camaraderie a comfort. At least everyone hasn't given up hope. At least many students are still finding their anger and their will to fight back.
There are fewer pretenses this coming week. Classes proceed as normal; the school day still functions as normal, but the further everyone comes from that first fateful meeting with the man in charge of this school, the further away and more incomprehensible the thought that there was ever really a chance of going along with the original plan, completing reeducation, and staying safe.
...Of course, you could still try. There'd be nothing stopping you.
But you won't, will you? That's just how the students of Ira Academy are. You'll visit the third floor of the Academy, ascending the newly opened flight of stairs. Maybe you'll investigate one of the new rooms, dwarfed by the echoes that bounce of the uninvitingly tall ceilings. There's probably still something in this place on your side.
Will you work together, or will you grow further apart?

OOC NOTES
Welcome to Week 3! New locations have been added and the third floor is now open for exploration. The library is a very large space and more than one person can investigate it throughout the week if you'd like. If you want to investigate one of the Floor 3 rooms, please hit the mods with a ping in Discord and put INVESTIGATE in your subject line.
As a reminder, AC runs Sunday to Sunday concurrent with these posts and is collected based on the prior week; this means you have a whole week to get in AC for the week prior. AC for week 2 should be submitted no later than this coming Sunday. Remember to submit your regains, and sign up for a spot exploring this week's mystery if you want to!
if she would in fact be banned from the student meeting just holler and i'll mod-retcon
Before they threw me into the washing machine and tried to drown me!
[She is here, apparently, though she does keep looking anxiously at the door.] I probably shouldn't even be showing up for these secret meetings of yours.
Re: if she would in fact be banned from the student meeting just holler and i'll mod-retcon
And- hey, is your head okay?
no subject
... My head? [She touches it with her good hand, which, of course, makes her wince.] I was just tossed around in a washing machine, you know...
no subject
[...Maybe it was hers? But if not, that sure would be a relief.]
no subject
N-no way... That's what it's for? I never had to wear that... so it must have been someone else. [Thank god.]
no subject
Okay, so it wasn't you. But then...
[Wait.
Who was it?]
no subject
[It's less of a question and more of a statement. He knows what's coming next, may as well appreciate not smelling blood while he can.]
no subject
no subject
It...the-[wait Nanami is here should they be mentioning her maybe girlfriend maybe enemy right here right now IMPROVISE QUICK!]-a-A person wore this. Definitely A human.
[brilliant]
no subject
...O-oh. Guess we'll never know, then.
[Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa]
no subject
[Thank you for understanding him in his moment of need, Yuta. He appreciates it.
...also aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa]
no subject
[Her tone is flat, and she looks a little unimpressed. What happened to the case-solving sense of smell.
ALSO WHY ARE WE JUST CARRYING THAT THING AROUND NOW?]
You can't even figure out how old it is or if it wasn't one of you?
no subject
How long blood has been somewhere isn't really something I can tell by smelling it, and...I can't really compare it to how everyone else's blood smells.
[is that better]
no subject
...I was just thinking, if you could... Well, for a while, you were all probably going along with the Principal's plan, right? There's no reason to stick someone who's behaving in detention. If the blood was from a while ago, that really narrows down the pool of troublemakers...
no subject
[While he's at it.]
Um...so, can I ask a question?
no subject
Go ahead. I figured you'd want to interrogate me since all... saved me, I guess.
no subject

[She looks down at her wrist, which is still wrapped pretty tightly, but sleeping on it has probably caused some looseness.]
Come to think of it... [Dramatically, with watery eyes:] It's really hard to move around or do anything with just one arm. If I were to get into trouble, who knows what would happen? I could really use the help with this...
no subject
Once this is over I can check your arm and stuff, rebandage it.
no subject
[Some of them have said these things enough; it's almost like they truly believe it. Nanami will remember that.
... Well, she's not going to ignore this great opportunity to have this protection, so after that brief moment of reflection she'll carry on in her watery voice.]
And if any of them try anything funny, like ganging up on me, you'll protect me, right?
no subject
[He may not like her, per se, but the Principal did shove her into a washing machine, so.]
I doubt anyone'd be ganging up on you right now, though. So I wouldn't worry too much.
[Also, she's not Sally, so he's not falling for it.
That and also, because he's kind of not noticing. He's just checking her arm to make sure it's ok.]
