Even as the castle--is it even right to consider as a 'castle'?--continues to grow more accessible more of the group is whittled away. Even your own memories fade as the Alices continue their 'game'. As the new nautically themed area opens new residents of the castle seem to have appeared. A family of living dolls has moved themselves into the dining hall while a lovesick apple tree familiar from Friday seems to have taken root in the garden. Along with the graveyard in floor three the Alices seem to want you to remember your fallen friends in some very... different ways.

Maybe the upcoming holiday will distract the Alices from moving their game along? Only time will tell.

A VERY MERRY UNBIRTHDAY

[though it was lightly announced at the meeting, today at breakfast ya boys Nigel and Nags will give people formal invitations in crayon on construction paper to the party happening at the aquarium in the evening, where it's set to last until about 11 o'clock and then they plan to leave in a big group to the bedrooms. ...They're also not advertising that they're inviting Alice, but they are. DIPLOMACY.

The aquarium itself has been decorated for the occasion with strings of paper stars hanging from another string that's been slung across the ceiling, courtesy of Nagisa. Like this, but they are a bit less impressive. Presents have been wrapped up in the center of the area, mostly containing yard sard-type fare, and the invitations encouraged others to bring some presents of their own. (Nigel put in his two fox costumes and second bubble kit.) Some blankets are strewn picnic-style across the floor of the aquarium, with individual slices of dining-hall-procured cakes and tarts scattered about, some of which have candles waiting to be lit, as well as bowls of snacks like pretzels and chips. Nigel also used the fancy-pants tea set he got ages ago to make whatever the sweetest looking tea he could find was - he's English enough for tea, but not without a lot of doctoring it seems. It turns out to be black tea flavored like butterscotch. There's still a bunch of packs of creamer and sugar laid out next to the pot too.... as well as another makeshift soda bar on the other side of the room. One liter is already empty because party setup is hard work. Spin the bottle? JUST TRY THEM, YOU DEGENERATE TEENS.

The guests may have also noticed a gold shark-shaped piñata hanging from the mast on their way in, suggesting the mid-way point of the party will involve going up on deck and taking a swing at it with some bats lying around. The aquarium also has a few board games in it but making the paper mache took so much effort that there aren't really any other 'birthday party games' handmade by them, BUT at least the aquarium atmosphere is nice enough to make up for it a bit. We make our own fun here. For example, Nigel is watching all the treats like a hawk until they're eaten and checking the perimeter - to greet arriving guests of course!!]

[Neku is here! Still looking run down but an effort is being made- he even kinda dressed up in a spooky hoodie. He even brought Fern the Foongus though if asked about her he just says "one of Cori's monsters" and leaves it there. He's not in the mood to speak of the dead. But he does pass her some of the healthier looking snacks]

[you don't have to dress like a skeleton just because you told us you're dead.... well, he still doesn't really know what to make of all that, but Fern feeding is interesting to watch. Once the basics are out of the way:]

[Also, the fur on several of his members looks oddly messy. Almost... wind-tousled? And is that a vague whiff of engine grease about him? Haha that's weird it's probably nothing.]

[at least if the nacho cheese runs out Nigel might pull one of the various nacho-cheese weapons he made out of his pocket to refill it!!]

[ This isn't so bad. Nagisa hadn't really had any desire to acknowledge his own birthday last week -- even if he didn't dread turning into an adult, he really wouldn't have considered his birth into that family something worth celebrating -- but celebrating everyone that's still here together on an ordinary day is kind of nice. (And it's a convenient distraction to keep him from dwelling on what might happen tonight.)

Maybe he'll almost smile once or twice.

That said, he is, perhaps unsurprisingly, not actually great with parties; and rather than doing anything fun himself, he's mostly standing around and watching to make sure everyone else seems to be having an acceptable time. At various points he can also be found straightening up the cake serving area, or standing on a bench to try to redistribute the hanging paper stars that have started sliding out of place and gathering too close together. ]

[Now seems as good a time as any to wear the rabbit kigurumi he got from Nagisa. Bonus points for also being cozy as heck.

The Clefairy from Lillie's room is out and about, and Allen's helping himself to some of the food since he's pretty sure if he keeled over dead here, there'd be plenty of witnesses, so... it's safe? Yeah, it's probably safe.]

[ Lena doesn't bring any presents, and she certainly doesn't dress up. The last thing she wants to feel right now is the scrutiny that comes with all of them together on a Thursday night. But hey, she shows up and leaves with everyone else! She's trying!

Speaking of trying, she trkes the butterscotch tea and immediately spittakes it right back into her cup. Did he heat up the pancake drink... what is happening.....

Whether or not anyone noticed this as it went down, there's an angelfish in the nearest tank that saw the whole thing. It stares at Lena, who stares back. ]

[Niko can largely be found out on the deck, especially if you follow her out there to see what on earth she's doing besides snubbing the aquarium; she's here for the goth vibe and also has a few handfuls of fireworks that may or may not be left over from yesterday...?

She's going to start lighting them and jetting them off -- it looks like they've actually been selected to make some cool colors, though most of them are actually warm colors. Red spectrum, to be precise. Gotta have a theme?

We've got flowers, attempts at smiley faces...]

... Hey, you think if we fire these out of the cannons, they'll go like real fireworks? Bet I could even hit the graveyard from here.

[Niko stop fucking with the cardboard ghosts challenge. It seems to be an idle threat?? Maybe?? She still has quite a few fireworks, though.

[Mizuki's free yard sard items include a rubber ball, measuring tape, a plastic flamingo, a stone lion figurine, a toy bat, a loaf of bread, the victor's medal please someone liberate me of this, a santa hat, pickles in a jar, and an old stick. There had been a chest of chocolate coins and a sugar ruby, but these have been redistributed into the pinata for the people.

She has rearranged the guitar on the bed of straw in the treasure chest. Underneath is a book from the library about the history of guitar, so its coverage of how to actually play is a little cursory but there are definitely chords included. There is also the sheet of stamps to decorate the guitar with. On a separate paper note:]

[Mizuki is pretty eager to hang around this present table, partially to get out her restless energy of S M A S H. She'd be glad to help anyone lift or arrange their stuff if that much in the way of regains is really going to be shared. A cheap pearl scrunchie gathers her hair into a high ponytail, as she wears purple cropped sweatjacket and green sweatpants over a blue bathing suit. Bare feet. Just a happy jock mermaid.]

[ Nagisa has picked out the more appealing and easily transportable items in his inventory to offer as gifts, and has considerately left the face bank far away from here.

Bubbles, a fancy hand mirror, a plastic crocodile and a rubber bat, a lawn gnome, a toy rocket, a treasure map, and some kind of packaged goo are all here for the taking. ]

[She has nothing to yard sard but the Queen was invited and might have harassed the Cat into making gifts for everyone. There are thirteen boxes of various sizes.

They let her come over... so she might as well give a birthday gift to Nagisa and unbirthday gifts for everyone else.]
